@MrSteve24fps ...oh yeah, the dreaded "slim Jim". My friend who worked for an auto transmission company literally made a fortune selling parts for them. Worst part of a beautiful car.
@MrSteve24fps 1964 also used the roto-hydramatic transmissions.... Another thing I never understood, was why that GM kept the Jetaway Hydramatic in the Cadillac, and the Pontiac Bonneville & Star Chief, but put this slush bucket tranny in the other Pontiacs and Olds models...
This really takes me back....the car I learned to drive in, went on my first dates in....this really makes me miss those times, that old car, and my old man...
It's called an automobile. Many people living today have never seen one, much less driven a brand new one. The cars of today have no styling, unless of course you're into black plastic interiors and black wall tires. There's more chrome on the steering wheel of this Olds than an entire 2009 average car. By the way cars used to have bumpers too, remember that?
What a fabulous car! My aunt owned a '61 Ninety-Eight in Sandalwood. I thought that it must have been the closest thing to riding on a rocketship. I thought the Wonderbar radio was the coolest thing there ever was.
The 1961 Classic Ninety/Eight 6 window hardtop is my favorite Olds of all time! People around the corner from us in '62 had a pale blue one. I've wanted one ever since.
Beautiful looking car. I've heard of the Oldsmobile 98, but I've never seen any videos of any this vintage.

@BarbaraandHarold I so agree. That's why I prefer cars of this vintage than that of cars built today.
