  • Grear vid! Quick question, did you use regular duty backpacking boots or double-plastic mountaineering boots? I've heard that you can use both on Washington as long as they're crampon-compatible, but wanted your take.

  • @BigFootSurvival Thanks for the compliment. I used rented Koflach Degres (double plastic boots). I LOVED them. I wound up buying the Arctis Expes because I tend to have cold feet, and because I want to tackle colder mountains in the future, but I highly recomment the Degres. Generally speaking, for day trips you will be fine in a leather boot (as long as they have welts for crampons), and you'll have better dexterity and feel. But for multiday you definitely need a liner you can dry out. Enjoy!
