The drums in this song have intrigued me ever since I watched mangini play it live at Massey Hall, I am amazed at the level of control and precision you play with, not missing a single time change or out of place note, and that is very impressive because this song is almost spitefully tricky in some places.

This song is worth buying the whole f**** album. Thus your cover should be watched by all Mangini haters or... those who don't really appreciate his job, you did a lot of honour to him with this faithful cover and you can see it's no easy job playing this song.

To me Mike Mangini is a great great player and so is Mike Portnoy( who has been my all time favorite since the first time I saw him play)! I learned a lot from both drummers and I tried to be as respectfull as I could to the song and to both drummers as I could. It's definitely not an easy song to learn! Thanks for your comment!

@Ianuarius85 The mix of the album is very new and once your through it a couple of times it's very cool! The previous albums had the drums very much in front of the mix, wich is to DT fans (like I am) "normal". About the drums I tried to be as close to Mangini's parts, with the stereo balance(right/left hihats) but sometimes I threw some of my own playing in it. Like the overwriting thing at 02.31. Mangini has the remote hihats wich I don't, so I had change a few things. Thanks for your comment!

@qtipbluedog Thanks man. We use Logic and a MOTU pre-amp and the Genelec 8030 monitors. I'm using Audix mics and for guitars most of the time a sm57. And we have a very nice Violet vocal mic (it's basically the same as a Blue mic, but then it's handmade)
