  • There is nothing wrong with the foals in the video, no reason for them not to live a long life.! These ignorant over-breeders and careless owners drop there horses off and could care less where they end up!

  • Lucky Horse Equine Rescue does the same. They save babies from Race Horse breeding centers ( :] ) because they were the throw-aways ;...(

  • that baby bay is gonna be a looker when he (?) grows up!!

  • @sjm8890 ok I understand you need to provide for your family but can't you find another job it's just terrible how they kill them ...horses don't deserve to be food dog they have soo much more potential then being that I mean come on....

  • as a man who slaughters horses I have this to say, there is nothing wrong with running a slaughter house, everyday I slaughter horses, cows, chickens, turkeys, pigs, and lambs, it is the best way I know how to support my family and I get free meat because I slaughter my animals for my own food as well

  • @sjm8890 I will not be your Judge and Jury. That will be left up to God. In the Bible it says "To eat nothing that is not of split hooves".

  • @TheJustHorsing You are talking to an atheist so don't bring up that religious crap.

  • @sjm8890 When you loose someone you really love (like Family) where will you be then? Nuff said.

  • @TheJustHorsing I have already lost 3 people that were extremely close to me and I got over it

  • Keep up the good work! One of my horses was a rescue. He was a stallion at 4yrs old when I got him. We gelded him and got him healthy again and has turned out to be the best horse in my barn! God Bless you all!

  • God bless you. Best wishes from England.

  • question: Is there a way to buy a horse from one of these terrible men?

Personally, I think all horses are beautiful :) I will never be told differently. When I was a kid I always wanted to get one for my very own...I hope someday to provide them with a home!

  • damn it im saving money to buy a horse,, screw it!! im going to steal one from those slaughter houses, lol :)

  • did any of the horses die along the way or did u feed them if u did how the trailer looks cramped

  • jws 54 you want to help try telling these dum ass th stop breeding crap horses in there back yards they let them get away with crap then they can't feed them so they get thin then they go to a sale what the fuck are you going to do with a ill manerd horse you guys are trying to get peaplo hurt on wait you don't save them kind

  • Are you guys serious? You are 'saving' horses from being slaughtered for their flesh? Couldn't you find any more useless activities to put your energy in? Well I suggest you could also save all the cows and pigs in the world from being slaughtered as well, don't they have the same rights as horses? I consider this a waste of time and money. You should be saving animals that actually need it, like protecting elephants, hippo's, rhino's and so on from poachers. This is ridiculous.

  • @OgreWorld Booooo *smacks the troll with the GO AWAY stick*

  • @Shokara2 I am not trolling you dumbass, I find it weird you couldn't find that out on your own.

  • You guys are THE BEST!!!!!!

  • i think we could spend money on more important things these horses are cramed into this trailer just as bad as the kill buyers haul them i dont see how people could say good job just because they are saveing horses so they can abuse them? and do not tell me there not abuseing them they are hauling them like cows if they are not livestock and should not be slaughtered you should have halters on all of them and tie them up to the trailer

  • Haha ! This Is Quite a funny story :D! x today at school we were at gym and we wanted to win a game of cricket, so my team mates were saying taylor if we dont win this , all the horses in the world will b slaughtered and can u geuss who won the game...? USS! lol haha i kicked everyone hoo was in my way LOL! xx thanks 4 saving the horses! X

  • great job done to save these poor horses!

  • @BlackSheepJam if god gave us the animals then why doesn't he stop the abuse??????????

  • thats horribal how people do that grrrrr i live on a and there is one horse called leo and he was abused realy badely he was whipped in the face and starved so now no one can touch his ears my sister 4everhorselover usualy rides him i some times ride him but for now im focused on my other pony marmite p.s good luck with the horses:D

  • thank god for people like u.

  • i am so happy

  • I want to help somehow. I so glad there are people like you out there! Thankyou so much!

  • Well done for saving them, what do you do with them all now?

  • My dad's letting me get 3 horses and 1 donkey from an auction :) there just gunna be old pasture horses (the donkey for protection). Im not gunna get the skinny sick ones (as much as my heart says to), i've been to many auctions, and now i'll actually get to bid AHHHHH so excited and nervouse!

  • great work on rescuing such wonderful creatures =]

  • Thanks for saving those horses and babies! Rescue organizations are amazing!

  • @kotek420 one just got caught selling horses to a kill buyer i dont like any of them

  • GREAT job

  • I think its funny when people think mini horses and ponys and foals go to slaughter...cus they dont

  • @bridlelessgirl yes they do. ANY horse can go to slaughter.

  • Aw what a wonderful ending for these pretty horses. How could anyone kill such wonderful animals. They are so pretty and sweet. Glad you where able to save them

  • The white one!!! *heart flutters* My gosh, if I had the finances to rescue horses I would! Maybe one day! Thank you and keep doing what you're doing!!!=]

God bless you and your horses!

  • I have a farm i will take these horses and give them a good home where they will live out their lives and not be hurt.

  • GREAT WORK!

  • THIS IS Y I FUCKING HATE PPLE.... pple can b so cruel to animals ... it makes me sic

  • thanks for saving them

  • Thank you for saving these horses - It's heartwarming to see them recieve the second chance they deserve - God Bless You

  • I rescued my rodeo horse from the meat pin when I was 13 year old and he turned out to be the greatest horse. It's so sad that animal auctions are still allowed. They're so inhumane.

Wanna see something also disturbing, look up carriage horses in NY. It's sick what those poor animals go through.

  • we will save all of the horses...I say ALL...of the horses!

and we will raise us a bloody fearsome calvary and ride havoc throughout the countryside laying waste and dealing death to all who would have murdered this fine horse flesh! Who is with me??!!!! We ride at dawn!!

  • ..........

  • @jws54 do you know how stupid that sounds its not even realistic or possible and this is one of the top comments

  • @brian93ist

with a fine horse, ALL things are possible,...

  • My sister in law bot a horse the was going to go to slaughter.

  • I'm with Blacksheep on the overbreeding arguement. In the UK there's a campaign to stop the over breeding of horses. And I hope that it can be monitored as there's just not the people to buy the horses that are being born. The mare has to carry a foal to have it heartbreakingly taken away from her for what? £20- £30 at auction? Greedy unethical breeders are to blame as well as the callous workers who work in these places. It cost nothing 2 treat these animals with care in their last days.

  • Well Done For Saving Them!

  • In his word, god gave a substitute for ONLY the equine. a pass from sacrifice and human consumption! I hate it when people say god gave us animals [not like you, black sheep] and we can do whatever we want with them! "He said "BE GOOD STEWARDS". he said don't sacrifice or eat horses! and max, you're a creep.

  • Here Here Victoria!!!

I've heard a saying that says,"If God made anything more beautiful than horses,He would have kept them for Himself"

Since I know this is true, then He wants us to take care of them.

  • This orginization does not do that! They find them homes after getting them well, but ya if the horse has a broken leg or is to sick with a broken down ankle or are in emense amout of pain, then will uthinize the horse to put in out of pain. It is not right for some organizations to do as you say I agree, but not all of them do such as NER . Research a place before you go make asumptions based on nothing!! OH and if you want a new animal PLEASE rescue it !!

  • They DO NOT let them get sick and die they rehabilitate them and find them loving forever homes!!! I know from personal experience with NER. The sorrel with the blaze at 1:21 well his name is BEN. I adopted Ben from this rescue and when I got him he was SOO much better than in this video! Ben is the best sweetest horse you could ask for, how could anybody send him to a feedlot let alone any other horse. Thanks nor cal for such an awesome horse. SHAME ON THE PEOPLE WHO PUT HORSE HERE!!!!

  • id rather die happy and fat then be hung by my hind legs and my throat slit and bleed till i die while i am still concious. Those people probably saved them to do something with them not to let them get sick and slowly die from old age. Think of the positive end. No horse deserves to be treated like the slaughter treats them. Id rather see a horse get shot in the head if it was in that bad of shape then to suffer from blood loss while hanging upside down

  • @MrHazzid U DONT KNOW WHAT IS BEST FOR THEM! they get sick in the feed lots, and horses are on this planet to be loved, not eaten

  • to people who eat horses or dream about eating horses or even joke about it . you should be ashamed of your self , horses are for riding and taking care of , not eating !! those people are DISGUSTING and should ask god for forgiveness , you only should eat cow and chicken since those produce way more than horses/

  • screw the frickin feedlot people !!! why would people slaughter such gentle giants. i love horses !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i want to put all of the feedlot supporters to prison or maybe even excicution

  • u r so dumb

  • that is so awesome good for you guys!

  • great job! I really admire you and the work youre doing. I didn't know that people used horses to eat them or that horses could be eaten. That's gross.

  • god bless this association

  • I HATE PERVZ THAT DO THIS TYPE OF STUFF!(not you the feedlot tards)

  • i don't have a problem if you have the money saving the horse from slaughter. however we need slaughter for the dipsheets that dump their horses off in the country where they are unwanted. not everybody wants horses on their property.

  • why punish the horse for the owners doing? set them free. there are places where horses are allowed to run free and be horses.

  • Yeah those places you talk about are good in theory. However, they don't have the resources to take in every horse that owners don't want. Since horse slaughter has been banned a lot of those places have quit taking horses. Why don't you buy a bunch of land and set up a horse refuge? If every horse lover that wanted to save them did this, then there wouldn't be a problem. Too many times those folks are more about saving the horses in theory until it comes time to put their own money up.

  • i would. i really would but im only 14. all im doing now is training peoples horses for them so they dont want to get rid of them anymore. i'll see what i can do when i get my own place. maybe the ones that are perfectly good horses but just need some training i'll train and sell to a good home.

  • KEEP UP THE AWESOME WORK :) I don't understand how someone could send a horse to auction, knowing they might end up on a dinner plate for some moron overseas... It sickens me! I just wish they would make the horse slaughter ban permanent, ban the exporting of horses over the boarder!!! And people would really get educated before giving into the typical "Daddy I want a horse!" line... Knowledge is power. Ppl need to be educated about this !!!!!

  • I'm so glad people like you exsist. It makes me so happy knowing that there is a chance for at least a few horses that would other wise have a terrible ending to their lives. It makes me sad everytime I go to the sales and I have to watch all these horses that could have so much potential be sold to the doggers. Thankyou for being suh kind people!

  • omg i wish that happened everyday, i mean the rescue thingy of course, i want to do that when i am older, did they have to pay to buy back the horses?

  • i have the most amazing horse 13.2 hh and can jump 4ft and geuss what we rescude her from the slaughter house

  • that is sooo good, yer u cud even find champion horses there, i wudn't sell any of my horses to the slaughter house even 4 1 million dollars!

  • The world thinks that Canada is the kindest country, lots of space, peaceful etc etc. Well this type of slaughter of horse (not to mention the horrendous way so much livestock is slaughtered). Then there is the seal hunt. I won't go on anymore except to say that this is a blemish on the skin of t this country.

  • are you kidding me? Canada is way better than the U.S!!! at least we don't have fat slobs eating fast food every chance they get!!!

  • My point eluded you. Did you know that they cannot slaughter horses in the USA? They send them to Canada and Mexico to do the dirty work. WHen it comes to animal cruelty, there is no monopoly on horse; just look at how most livestock is raised and slaughtered. It's enough to make somebody turn to veganism.

  • they slaughter cows in the U.S. even more. Our prime minister has too many things to worry about. He can't focus on banning slaughter in the U.S. Anyways, if we ban horse slaughter more horses will be abandoned and let loose only to get the worse: get hit by cars or starvation. It's not our fault. We can't do anything about it but enforce humane euthanasia and proper transportation to slaughter houses.

  • tbh kyler309 i think your completely pathetic for leaving a comment like that i have horses my self and i side with everything they did because horses have more than one use and im not saying this just because im a horse owner, "not worth a penny" completely false if you put the time and effort into making them into good horses or ponies so you need to sort your ideas my matie.

  • you guys are awesome. this makes me happy knowing these horsies were saved..sad for the others around the world that weren't as lucky :[

  • yer i agree

  • YAY:)

  • Where is this? How much are the horses in the U.S.A?

  • they r not USELESS BECAUSE NO ONE CAN SAY THEY R UNWANTED BECAUSE I WANT THEM ALL!!!!!!!!

  • I think that it was good that they saved the horses but they did kinda looked cramped in the trailer.

  • wow ! you are so nice !! congragulations to you and your new horses ! :]

  • I am proud of the work of NorCal!

P.S.- to my knowledge NorCal does auction rescue instead of feedlot rescue now. I believe the reason is because they can rescue more horses at a lower cost straight from the slaughter auctions.

  • I now have one of the baby's in this video. She knows how lucky she is and I am sooo lucky to have her.

  • She knows how lucky she is? To have a "nut" own her?

  • she knows how lucky she is to be alive!!!!!

  • and you have an equal vote to mine...regardless of your IQ being far below par...get an education, and "turn your brain on"

  • Most likely i have an IQ way higher than yours!!!! and i have an education !!!!!!!

  • Yeah, "most likely..." What type of education do you have? Just because I am a Veterinarian doesnt mean I am an expert on English language in America, or on combustion engines.

  • yeah well i know horses and I actually take the time to get to know them and how they feel!!

  • mine is on but so is urs and urs is the size of a pinead oviously

  • yer thats true she went from rags to riches and i admirure her owner

  • at least she saved a horse and how wud u know she is a nut? Mr NO IT ALL

  • omg thats mad at least u wud feel very proud, because u hav helped against horse slaugter

  • You are incredible people! Thank you for your hard work and dedication!

  • Thank you for your work. People who say that slaughter is humane population control should go through the experience themselves. It is the most inhumane procedure I have ever seen, and people like you are the angels these animals need. God bless you an your organization and keep up the great work!

  • They sell the horses for food & hides, they are not cruel & uncaring any more than the guy who raises catfish, poultry, cattle, sheep, hogs, goats, camels for the same purposes - to make aliving & to provide food for others.

  • God bless you for your hard work!!

  • thats extremely nice and so thoughtful of you. i dont know why people still send their horses to slaughter houses when they could give them away to a loving family if they really dont want them that bad. But just sending them to a slaughter house is just ridiculous, it shows how cruel some people can really be...they are living breathing feeling animals just like us. I dont understand why they have to be treated so differently and with less respect. Thats just horrible.

  • Hey this is the best idea ever! We were driving to a horseshow in OKC. We passed 2 slaughter trucks with horses in them. The second I saw that I started crying (im 14). After I was calm I called my dad with an idea my mom and I came up with. My dad has this HUGE farm with nothing on it so I asked him if he would put a fence up and if we could save 10-20 horses and he said yes! I just need to find an auction to go to so I can get them. If you have any info Please message me. Thanks so much! Lovez

  • thats not safe handling u didnt use the divider gate

  • We agree, the feedlot where we rescued these refused to allow us to handle the horses while they were on their property, and all handling of the horses was done by their staff. That guy loading the horses we saw limping off and on because he was kicked. You'd think he would learn his lesson sometime, or at least get a decent job.

  • Dont you know how they treat animals out there?

    DO YOU?!?

no appearently not! they are cutting in their neck so they will bleed for en hour or 2 and then they will hang them upside down so all the blood will go out of their body

If the animals arnt dead after that they will put them in a machine that cuts them and they are tortying to death!

the animals get deathmovements and they try but they cant walk! because they have cutt their feet off!

  • Uh, yeah...so I am a vet, and I wanted to let you know a jugular bleed will not last an hour. Maybe 7 minutes....however, the horse dies almost immediately. That is a standard method of euthanasia. Further, would you rather have barbiturates in the animal, which would quickly get into our water tables when we burry them, poisoning innocent people who live near the burial site. What do you suggest we should do with these neglected animals?

  • Hardly,.... nothing you are saying is common practice. As part of my medical training, I was lucky enough to tour all three USA plants. None of these methods you have fanaticized occur in any regularity at an equine slaughter plant in the US. Let the professionals worry about these issues, or get an education yourself and get involved where you can become helpful.

  • Are you implying feedlot work is not a decent job? Get a life.

At first your video wasnt all that bothersome, but now im starting to wonder.

I have hauled many of critters without the divider gate.

  • @norcalequinerescue they are responsible if you get hurt

  • You guys rock! Although I'm not sure if I could leave without taking all teh horses with me...

  • U ROCK SO BAD!! i wish more ppl culd be like u and save these horses. wat u do is so cool!! and thnx 4 savin them.

    (yes, even tho idk them)

  • Thank you for saving this beautiful horses :D

  • Breeding a horse to create a baby or buying a horse for your own pleasure and use comes with responsibility. You are responsible for the care of and the emotional well-being of an animal. Be it a horse, cat, dog or bird. If you can no longer care for it, you either find a suitable HOME or you humanely put it to sleep. You do not abandon it to an abusive situation or an abusive death.

  • I cried like a baby watching this video. I would love to do what you guys do for a living. It's amazing what some humans do to animals and they have the forgiveness to love and trust us again.

  • Listen Here Racin4Bucks

I dont fink u would like to be slaughtered like dis so no they shouldnt neglect or slaughter the horses they should let them free or sell them to caring owners like i care for my horse Joker. i would never neglect or slaughter a horse even to save my own life because its just cruel i hope u wouldnt like to be starved to death or slashed up with a chainsaw then sold for $80.. just as i thought

SAVE THE HORSES GIVE THEM A SECOND CHAHNCE IN LIFE! SAVE THE FOALS TOO!!!!!!!

  • If you actually believe that all the horses that are slaughtered are old and worthless, watch Animal Planet's "Petfinder" show on Saturday nights. Mya, the only horse in the show, was hours away from being shipped to slaughter a few days before the filming of the episode.

The reason the horse market is "so bad" right now is there are many people who believe if they have a horse that owns a uterus that is must be pregnant. No thoughtless breeding, no excess horses.

  • God bless you! You've nailed it dead on with this statement! Just like people who breed their dogs and cats either because they THINK it's an easy money machine, they don't bother to think at all, or they believe it is their "RIGHT" as a pet owner to breed their pet...SAME DAMN PROBLEM! Owning a companion animal of any type comes with responsibility...PLEASE DON'T JUST BREED YOUR ANIMAL...SPAY/NEUTER/GELD AND DON'T BREED YOUR MARE.

  • Its so neat seeing all those horses taking a walk towards freedom.

    =)

    Thank you for doing this!

  • Do you see the baby with 4 white stockings laying down in the pen? I adopted her. She was a bony, runty little thing. It took a lot of work from her foster parents to get her to thrive. Now a few months later, she's really something to see. Even the vet and farrier have commented on her even temperment. Hard to believe that this baby, who is a sweet and sensible young horse, was so close to being food.

Best thing I've ever done. If you can to help, please donate to NER.

  • It says it is a Canadian owned feedlot,Is the feedlot in the US or Canada?

  • The feedlot is in Nevada but the property is owned by a Canadian meat company and the "good" horses (meaning fat and healthy) go to Canada to be slaughtered and the "bad" (meaning skinny, pregnant, etc) go to Mexico to be slaughtered.

  • This is such a positive video presentation for such a horrendous industry! I applaud your efforts to remain positive and hopeful in the face of such negativity, adversity and ignorance. You've done a great job of presenting the picture with hope and dignity. GOOD FOR YOU! Keep up the positive protection!

  • Awesome. My heartfelt gratitude to all of you.

  • Great job guys! thanks allot! I love you

  • My horse was a cow pony (even though he is 15.2) and when we shave him, he has alot of big scares on his body when they where breaking him. He used to be so spooky, but now he has me too love on. I appreciate people who rescue horses. Thank You!!

  • I would love to go with 2 trailers to a slaughter place and just save them all but im doing my bit i have saved my horse jack from slaughter 1 year ago he has inproved so much complete opposite to what he was =]
