Tons of top 40 songs. They made concerts more fun. They will be remembered 50 years from now when most bands will disappear. They have made quite an impact. So I say yes they Deserve to be in the ROCK N ROLL HALL OF FAME!

KISS should be there, and would be if the people voted (as would a couple of others who belong), but then you'd get Journey, Boston, Foreigner, Bon Jovi and others who don't belong (induct Britney if you want people's choice). Oh, and the Beatles, Stones and Zeppelin all got in 1st ballot, and AC/DC & Queen 2nd or 3rd, and the deserving rappers have a more R'N'R attitude than some rock bands.

Gene's right about Madonna but he shows ignorance regarding blues icons being in the Hall of Fame. Blues is the foundation of rock and roll. Muddy Waters and his contemporaries are what led to rock. The Rolling Stones named their band after a Muddy Waters song.
Well theoretically the hall of fame is meant to honor those that made a contribution and impacted rock and roll. Laying the foundation which blues did counts as a major contribution. Blues were a huge influence on Led Zeppelin and that band is by far the most influential of rock.

Well said. Gene's a smart guy (though an ass), but the idea of the people voting is a terrible idea. KISS should be there, and would be if the people voted (as would a couple of others who belong), but then you'd get Journey, Boston, Foreigner, Bon Jovi and others who don't belong (induct Britney if you want people's choice). Oh, and the Beatles, Stones and Zeppelin all got in 1st ballot, and AC/DC & Queen 2nd or 3rd, and the deserving rappers have a more R'N'R attitude than some rock bands.

Gene's only flaw was that the foundation of "Rock Music" is Rhythm and Blues. If, you notice all the legends of Rock (Rolling Stones, Zepplin, AC/DC) all honour the BLUES as the foundation of their music and success.

They took it for granted whereas Britain loved the blues and bands like ZEP,CREAM,SABBATH,The STONES took advantage hell Jimi Hendrix couldn't even make it in America he had to go to England........I personally think Kiss suck compared to the bands i named above

I support Kiss as a group, but I have no respect for Gene. We all know he's arrogant as hell, but on Howard Stern, he talks about how he charges fans $1000 to meet him and the band. How much more fucking money does he need. Just sign a damn autograph for free and show some gratitude to the fans who put you where you are. Gene's right about Madonna but he shows ignorance regarding blues icons being in the Hall of Fame. Blues is the foundation of rock and roll. Muddy Waters and his contemporaries are what led to rock. The Rolling Stones named their band after a Muddy Waters song.

No Gene's right, Blues did help pave the way for rock but it's still Blues and not Rock. It's not the Blues hall of fame it's the Rock hall of fame.

Well theoretically the hall of fame is meant to honor those that made a contribution and impacted rock and roll. Laying the foundation which blues did counts as a major contribution. Blues were a huge influence on Led Zeppelin and that band is by far the most influential of rock.
