i have the razer mamba, and im not overly impressed when i first got it i loved it however it went downhill from there. first the rubber thumb grips came loose and the mouse wheel started squeaking. i sent for an RMA and got a replacement 1 month later the thumb grips started slipping again. the sensor is good tho and it is a nice mouse but considering the parts you grip come loose so quickly is disappointing, mind you this is with heavy use tho. just ordered a RAT9 see how it is in comparison
Another noob gamer who buys expensive shit who barely knows what the functions do. i bet he plays with maximum dpi thinking it will increase his aim too haha fuckin clown.
I've got the Razer Goliathus Extended Speededition right now. It works perfectly, and as a Starcraft 2 player, I still think the speed is so much smoother, just generally works better than the controledition.
It's more than twice the price of the Deathadder... I would drop $130 for a high-end mech keyboard, but never for a mouse lol. What kind of game are you all playing where you need 6400 dpi?
To get the most out of your mouse set the in game sensitivity low enough so that the highest DPI of the mouse becomes usable it will provide the smoothest possible gameplay. Thats how I do it.
I have the 2012 edition and suddenly both the dock and the mouse wheel's light just turned off and it won't turn on again. I already attempted to set this up within the Lighting and Power options on the official drivers and I have the latest firmware installed- still no luck. Does anyone else have this problem? Thanks!
@Carloschism Yes, it does work on a hard mouse pad. It calibrates to whatever surface you set it on. So when you first unbox it, set it on what surface you'll be using it on, and plug it in. From there it'll self-calibrate, and work like a charm.
Q: When should I enable the Razer Mamba 2012's 4G Dual sensor system?
A: You should enable the 4G Dual sensor system when you want to have the most precise tracking possible. However, enabling this feature will require you to use the Razer Mamba 2012 with an evenly textured, single colored mouse pad or a surface with similar properties.
@PoKeR123484 Yes. Higher DPI has made both gaming and internet surifing a lot more enjoyable for me. I personally wouldn't spend the $120 on a mamba. I'd start simple with the $50 Deathadder. Incredible mouse, and the same design as the Mambe, just no wireless and two less buttons.
I agree, just get the Deathadder. It's an absolutely incredible mouse. It's awesome. The only difference between the Mamba and the Deathadder is the wireless aspect, the DPI buttons and the variation of the color schemes. They have literally almost the exact same design and comfort level. It's only $50 so it's really a steal. But you can do whatever you want.
@roflsteaksauce lol the difference is in the game, if you play mmo's or games with a lot of key mapping get the naga, if you play shooters or anything else get the mamba.
One thing thats stupid is that you have to pull the cord in and out of the charger for it to work, the charger have to be in for it to work in wireless mode. I think they should have done as Logitech, a unified receiver for wireless transmitting and a seperate cord for charging.
Are those new edition of the mouse pads? from what I've see around.. the edges aren't stitched like the one you have. So, do I need to look for a certain type of the controlled version?
@FeilxNigh7 yea I learned that it's a new edition of it..
anyways.. got my mamba 4g and ended up getting Dragon Age Speed Edition.. no edge stitching though.. but looks better than the plan version lol. oh well.
i bought the mouse today, and i was wondering should you switch the mouse on when you are using it as a wired mouse? or should you turn it off? thank you!
@FeilxNigh7 oh, thanks anyway ; ) another question: sometimes the mouse doesnt respond at all in wireless mode. I have to restart the computer. Do you maybe have an idea why this is happening? it seems to happen when i open programs such as skype for example. Driver is updated. Thanks!
Would you say the 4g makes a difference? Looking to upgrade my original Mamba with the 4g version, but I see reviews say there are cursor jumping issues. Have you experienced this or fixed it with a firmware update? Thanks!
@bigboyboobs from what I've heard the firmware update fixed most of it... I also don't have not experienced the cursor jump issues. I also do not know if it makes a difference, I have only had the 4g mamba.
@theupallnightgamers nice review. Ive got the same (4g). I'm always in wireless mode and every 40-50min the mouse lag or wont responding for about half a second. Its very annoying when you played FPS games. Does this happened to you? Previously I use the old Mamba and never had that problem.. (
Can you comment on how the Mamba does on the Goliath control pad? I am looking for control for Stacraft 2. My Mamba tracks poorly on a SteelSeries HD pad.
@bigboyboobs i find the control pad is really nice on the mamba, both Goliathus mouse-pads are cloth, but the texture on it does keep the mouse from flying across the pad i hope that helps, i really do like the mouse pad but i was looking for a lot of portability.
I have a logitech mx518 and 3 razer products, is it worth buying this becouse my mouse is getting kinda worn off

@1337soundeZ DPI = Dots Per Inch, think of it as how much the mouse can "see."

@1337soundeZ DPI means dots per inch and is a measure of the precision (or rather, resolution) of the sensor. More DPI = more precise mouse.
