I won't raise this up to Taiwan issue, but I am sad that this song was abandoned due to part of its native tongue in singing. I grow up in Canton, & actually like this song very much, because I feel it's truly represented local culture & tradition.

The reason Taiwan doesn't want to be part of China is exactly this. Chinese always want to censor other people from speaking their own language. Mandarin speakers are such pain in the behind. Go learn a new language! There are 1.4 billion Mandarin speakers. Isn't that enough? Why do you have to wipe out other people's language? KMT tried to do that in Taiwan too. They fine you in school if you speak Taiwanese. They should get out of Taiwan and go back to China, where they belong.
