i say like this: the misty ladys force have great power, it's only disadventage is it's disability to fire forward or upward, so it's a good choice for those who want to have a real challenge

If you're in for an even harder challenge, try using one of the R-9B ships (the ones with that ridiculous cubish wall wave cannon)

Very nice work. To use a crappy ship and almost make it to the end is no easy task, especially on the Bydo difficulty level. Playing through F-C on the Human difficulty level is already hard enough, even with a good ship.

You just blew me away. I really, really hope you keep trying to finish. I'd be interested to see how you deal with the Surge swarm in the 25th century. I hated the Misty Lady when I had to use it to unlock ships. 5/5 for play.

Looking at this video here, I can very easily see that the main inspiration for this Extra Stage of R-Type Final was taken from directly from a "Penalty Area" stage based on another Irem 1988 arcade vertical shmup: Image Fight. If you look closely between many of the enemies (as well as their firing patterns) in this video and the ones featured back from that other game there, you will know exactly what I am talking about. ;)

Oooh, this game. I remember playing a demo about it, yet never actually buying the full game. Is it still available out there by any chance? I know it's on the PS2 but I haven't found it in any game store around my area.

Bydo Difficulty is the second hardest difficulty setting. Enemies move and shoot faster, as well as having increased HP.

I see. Well, congrats on making it that far. I doubt I could've made it to that point, but then again, I haven't exactly played many SHMUP's.
