@gewizz2 you can extend range using 2.4G boosters maybe. Spektrum Radios have max range of 1km maybe. but i have never tried. try it on your own risk heheheh. or you can use Chainlink UHF 30km system with DX5E to get 30km range

@gewizz2 yeah...you can advance the cap of the dx5e in several ways but you should keep in mind that it is not going to be the best TX. One thing i do is fly with a receiver with a satelite. another thing I do is to never fly the tx below the second GREEN light. I know I will get another TX before next spring so I'm not too concerned about dx5e anymore. good question though.

Hello! I just had a quick question here, at 1:37 , are you saying Lawmate receiver? Why are you using it instead of the digital one that came with the TX? On bevrc.com i didnt find one that looks like yours but will any do? (I assume that it has to be 1.3G)

@DrDimk0o yup it has to be 1.3G. I did not use the digital one just because My Lawmate could work with this one just find and i did not want to take much trouble.

@winz1989 these are good goggles have built in 2.4G and 5.8G Video receivers and built in Head tracker. I heard Fat shark goggles give some users headache due to the distance and big view that users can't get used to looking at.

Hello again my friend. What kind of range will you get with that 800mW system? With your patch antenna? What would the pros and cons about that more powerful1500mW system be? Does 1500mw drain more power = less flying time? Your radio range is far beyond your video range now. Will see in the tests to come. Good Luck!

@sundown798 the distant world record was set with a 500mw system, it all depends on your antenna. 1500mw is pointless, more heat, more power consumption, more weight. Get the 800mw setup, I have gone almost a mile with my complete stock omni antennas.

@paintballkidz Hey thanks man! I have done more research about this and they say its all about your antenna setup for longer range. Im on the fence between 1.2,1.3 or 2.4 ghz systems. I may settle for a 2.4ghz 500Mw or 800Mw video, UHF dragon link or BEVRC for radio. And for the patch antenna ive read the yaggi 19dbi hand tuned antenna that I have read from Trappy's website gives a solid 20km video link. Im a begginer so im only going to go very short distances at first. Cheers!

@sundown798 yes, Trappy's site has solid info. tune Yagi can give you great range on 800mw. go with Bevrc ChainLink. I had 7 km flight today and all was good. video was great with just 8dbi Patch antenna. did not even break for one single second. clear video all time. try 1.3g 800mw that i am using, its great

Thanks for your video I will need all the help I can get as a total beginner in FPV. Since you are not using the Futaba receiver does that mean that control signals are thru the chainlink ? Also does that mean that the Futaba transmitter will not operate on it's native frequency but again thru the chainlink system. There seems to be a lot to learn. What is the cost for all the setup minus the RC radio system?

@ap0lmc yes right. ChainLink will convert all the PPM signals coming from trainer port and send them to Rx on plane.
