  • @Mpirefilms look an awful like it. Answer me, would the prophet approve if he watched this clip? Answers obvious, so therefore we shouldn't be watching it. Like I said before there are better techniques to getting a message across, and this one fails Islamically.

  • @SamuraiWarrior48 I think it is a bit presumptuous to ask any human being to speak on behalf of the Prophet. The answer is obvious, the film shows one woman coming to the aid of another woman who is in a compromising situation, befriending her and sharing a non-alcoholic drink with her in their neighborhood until help can arrive. This wasn't made for an Islamic audience, it was made for an audience. It is a story. A story of a scene in Brooklyn, about two women who find common ground.

  • Respond to this video...Muslim women in America have a variety of clothing options culturally, and in Brooklyn,NY they don't all dress in one set attire. The message is right on! It is trying to show that two women from different cultural backgrounds can find friendship and common ground despite their differences, that's why the film won the "Two faiths, One Film" competition. It was voted up by both Muslims and non-Muslims, and judged by a panel of both too.

  • Why did she drink beer if it's haram

  • @banki8008 It's Ginger Beer. It isn't real beer.

  • stupid it is

  • @Jamest206 I think you mean stooopid. Because it won the competition, so, yah know. It must be better than the others.

  • MashAllah! verry touching this sister could have let that women get raped but she decided to dothe rite and brave thing MashAllah!

  • @MohammedMuzzy87 Exactly! you get it! It is hard to express things without dialogue. But it comes across to most.

  • This one is stupid

  • @SamuraiWarrior48 And it is a winner!

  • @Mpirefilms Which is absolutely ridiculous and defies my mind? WTH was my first reaction, seriously, seriously! The awful jazz music playing in the background, the naked woman on the street, and the Nikabi taking off her jilbab, and drinking what seems like beer? There are more Islamic ways to approach filming, and getting a certain message across. This one broke all the rules and therefore it should not have won an Islamic contest. Go back to the true Sunnah, not your twisted take on it!

  • @SamuraiWarrior48 Under her Jihab, she is still completely covered. She is in a position to offer the other woman the clothes off of her back, and still remain in accordance with her beliefs. and NO! SHE ISN'T DRINKING BEER. Google "Ginger Beer" and you will find it is about as alcoholic as Dr. Pepper. in New York there are a lot things crazier than seeing a woman in a towel. I've been on the train and people who walked on naked. In that city a lot happens. This broke NO Islamic rules. BK-baby!

  • @Mpirefilms It broke all the rules. I don't care if it's New York or Jakarta, doesn't give the director the right to break the Islamic dress code. The actor should not be portrayed in an Islamic film wearing only a towel. And why does the jilbabi have to give her the clothes of her back, she's the one who decided to go quickly out dressed like that, doesn't seem like a problem at first. The jilbabi broke the Islamic rules by dressing in tight fitting pants as seen at 4:19

  • @Mpirefilms why would she wear the jilbab in the first place if she thought that downsizing wouldn't be a problem. It's not like the lady is on fire and she has to go out of her way to save her life. To me and others it appears as a beer bottle, and must I highlight APPEARS. If something creates suspicion in the eyes of an Islamic audience why put it in the film in the first place. Nowadays there are kid toy cigarettes, doesn't mean their cigarettes for smoking, but eh they look an look an

  • @SamuraiWarrior48 okay... a bottle does not mean beer. You may just be unfamiliar with what Ginger Beer is, but there is a shot @ 4:28 that says "Ginger Beer."The whole point of the film, is that things aren't what they appear, so it is supposed to look like a beer bottle, but it really is a bottle of Ginger Beer. No the other woman isn't on fire, but she is in a precarious situation and needs the help of the Muslim woman she judged in the earlier scene to regain modesty and respect.

  • Candy cigarettes usually look like candy. Ginger Beer is labeled "Ginger Beer." It is made out of Ginger and is basically like Apple Cider. Apple Cider may appear to be wine if poured from the bottle it doesn't change what it is. She offers the clothes off of her back to help the other woman regain her modesty after a man attempts to make a move for her while she is locked out of her house in a towel.

  • @SamuraiWarrior48 First this isn't an Islamic film. It is a film. The other woman with the long hair is not Muslim, and she needs something to cover her up after her poor decision to leave her house underdressed and subsequently gets locked out. The pants the Muslim woman was wearing were track pants which are lose fitting and baggy.
