You guys r complaining about the pathetic us metal scene. European metal+ jRock is right up there with this glorious cd. Check out bands like Angra and their CDs Angels Cry, Holy Land, Fireworks and Temple of Hate. Vanden Plas CD Christ 0. X-Japans Art of Life live from 1993. Helloweens CD like Keeper of the Seven Keys w Michael Kiske.
Queensryche's live shows were note perfect. Believe it. I went to see this show twice, once in Sacramento, then San Francisco. In SF I was very close to the stage and it was the best concert I ever had, or ever will have the opportunity and privilege to attend. It was mesmerizing, a phenomenal, monumental life changing event. It was crushing when Chris DeGarmo left. Queensryche are the rarest combination of intensity, intelligence, professionalism, skill, and talent.
Once upon a time, not too long ago, talented musicians got together and formed these things called "bands". Today, however, most bands have gone away, to be replaced by pre-pubescent teenagers that squeal and yell into the microphone, exhibiting no talent whatsoever. How i long for the days of old...
@TheTruthfulAsshole Well I just heard some songs from Accept's newest album "Blood of the Nations" and it's the best thing Metal album I've heard since the 90's. So I know it's still possible to make a mind blowing album. Look up Teutonic Terror.
I toured with this band being scotty's rodey for 3 years just to damn good is my thought of beliefs... Executive Chef Todd. S. Huber from las vegas nevada of course...
I have tickets to see them soon, but i've been looking at some recent setlists and i haven't seen songs from this album, do they still play these hits from mindcrime anymore? it'd be disappointing if they didn't
A progresszív metál történelemkönyve e nóta címével egyező album megalkotásával kinyitódott és be is záródott ,ahhoz hozzáférése más zenekarnak nincs!
One day,One day I will grow my hair out! I take this band, this genre of music such as Fates Warning,Starbreaker,Pagan's Mind,Dream Theater&etc very closely to heart&one day I'll join their stare/&look! Im just not in the right city right now!
The drums on this (which are the same drums Scott Rockenfield played on Empire) are CRUSHING!!!! Scott Rockenfield is DE man when it comes to good sounding drums. You can't forget Geoff Tate's piercing vocals on this either.
What an awesome band, unreal singer. Geoff and Ann Wilson both are from Washington and both are the best at what they do..must be something in the water there!
This was by far the best performance of Operation Mindcrime ever! The last couple tours where they played it in it's entirety they added different quirky shit that I just didn't care for. If it's not broke, Don't fix it!!
I've watched this show 100+ times. And no matter how many times i watch it, it still leaves me in awe exactly like it did the first time i watched it.
I was at this show, it was taped in Madison, WI - at the begining you can hear Geoff say Madison, are you ready for operation mindcrime? Best live band ever.
chris degarmo was THE main writer of queensryche's best material musically, not to mention the fact hes a great lead guitarist and possibly the best backing singer in metal history. Queensryches ISNT queensryche without degarmo, just listen to those vocal harmonies.
Concert was recorded live in WI as mentioned, three dates, LaCross, Madison, and Milwaukee. My wife and I were at the Milwaukee date and later bought the VHS of the concert. These guys were incredible live.
I could just imagine what this band would have been if Chris Degarmo was still around,it's too bad Queensryche's new material is the worst i've ever heard them produce.Queensryche needs to go back to where they started from and keep the theater/imagery bullcrap out of it.Sorry to say but they are sounding more like Jeff Tates horrible solo material.
I agree, the 90s were the decade, good music, internet, jobs. And I was at this concert at the UNO Lakefront Arena in New Orleans, BEST concert ever, and I still talk about it. Thanks for posting.
@jcage I'm pretty sure those aren't doubles, although they could be, but I can play that easily with single kick, but that is one of the most effective beats there is if you ask me...
@SilverByte69 I do love this album (in particular this song), but have you ever heard "Nostradamus" by Judas Priest? That is the best concept album ever, in my humble opinion.

@chayx69 it is live, I've had the pleasure of seeing them perform this entire album live many times at several venues around the country, they are just that damn good.
Not too many bands can pull off a show and sound as good live as they do on the album, Queensryche is one of those few bands that can pull it off.
