Wow! What an incredibly entertaining and informative video! This should be used in schools across the Country as a way to teach responsible recycling. Great job and thank you!
We actually do receive packages from outside of the country. I do not know if Canada has an affordable mail piece rate. Hopefully someday we will have a collection center in Canada for discs. In the mean time, hang on to them and please don't send them to a landfill or incinerator!
Amazing! I have a pretty decent sized box with separated CDs and jewel cases. I recycled the paper in the regular way. Unfortunately I'm in Toronto, Canada and there are no centers near me! I still have the box though ... didn't want to throw it out. Do you have any suggestions for me? International shipping might be a bit costly.
No. Every CD, DVD, CDR & DVDr does have a extremely thin metal layer for reflectivity of the laser, but it is typically aluminum or silver. Yes, some older discs has a gold layer, but a very small percentage and a very small amount!

When people get rid of CD's I take them home and listen to them... I found at least two Bumpn' Mixes that way.

This is fantastic! What types of products are the chips made into?

@stevetrashnetwork
Thanks! The plastic chips are remanufactured generally into automotive industry parts, and home building materials.
