  • Tremendously helpful! Thank you!

  • After you export with color + alpha in Apple Pro Res, you must import in final cut pro or any other editing software and change the composite mode of the clip to ADD under MODIFY. This will give you the transparency you are looking for.

  • even if you export using ProRes444 it still does not have a transparent background. after exporting once i bring the clip into premiere pro the clip still is not transparent. how do you just get the text to show up on the video without the black background?

  • Hi,

We have seen your videos on youtube and will like to hire you as a consultant or a contractor to format and upload videos and add a transparent background on our website. If you can please contact me at your earliest convenience please at 407-207-5358 or email me at ivonne fuzionnetwork at your earliest convenience please

  • no luck... I've tried everything. Can't seem to export to FCPX with Alpha... the black background stays... UGH. Anyone else with any good ideas?

  • I've tried all option but still a black background... Can someone pls help?

  • APPLE MOTION 5 MUZZLE FLASH TUTORIAL ON MY CHANNEL!

  • Thank you dgtronic, that's very helpful!

  • This really helped me out. Thank you. :)

  • I'm still getting the black background when I export. My hope was to get transparent text motion for use in boinx tv, but the black video covers up my main image. Do you have to key the black out in a post production program, or did I miss something? Any help would be great and thanks for the vid!!

  • @1NewIdeaKen try apple pro res 444

  • @dgtronic Thanks for the tip. I ended up setting all layers but text to 0% opacity and going into settings for motion and switched a background preference to transparent. I was able to export with the current project settings on the Options Menu, but still using color+alpha on the render tab. The result was a black background on the .mov, but when I pull it into boinx it was just what I needed. Just another way to get there if anyone else has problems.

  • or you could just say render current settings and as long as you didn't adjust the properties, you're golden. Its not that difficult.

  • Great video, it confirmed what I thought about H.264. Thanks much!

  • Thanks for the tip, I tried exporting my test file as Apple ProRes 422 (Proxy) and it didn't work, however it did work when I tried Apple ProRes 4444. Again, many thanks
