I liked her as she got older. Lisa Kudrow had made a living off her. If there are playback singers well, she is a playback actress that does Teri Garr roles. That shows who great Teri is but you can't put the Irish in Lisa.
Um presently reading her book "SPEED BUMPS". How old is Terri? She does not tell her birthday in the book, but my guess would be 1944-1945? So will she be around 67? Her brothers would be in their 70s. I really am enjoying her autobiography.
@PlayForMeASymphony I had a crush on her as "Inga" in Young Frankenstein" and loved her in everything she has done, wishing she makes a full recover and starts acting again!
Thank you for this great tribute. I completely agree with you: Teri Garr is woefully underappreciated as an actress...She has this incredible ease and charm on screen, which makes it look easy. However, there is nothing easy about it. Teri Garr is a true blue artist.
hey, are you going to do any more tributes to specific people? because i really like the ones you've done and would love to see more. great job, keep 'em coming. :)
I am black and I say Teri Garr is UNDERRATED and UNDER APPRECIATED! She is a BAD MAMMA JAMMA! HONEY!! She plays the hell out of any roll STUPID Hollywood gives her!
I have enjoyed seeing Teri Garr in all of her TV and movie appearances...She was so funny in the skits with Cher on Cher's show in the 70's when they were the "laundromat ladies" - Can't find those clips on youtube. Thanks for a great video!
I think this may be my very Favorite 'Craig' Tribute Vid, ever. Sooooo much joy and admiration and love went into this. I had nooo idea how beautiful and talented and richly diverse Teri Garr was/is. You've opened up my eyes, and I'm sure a LOT of people's eyes, to her Wonderfulness.. The Music is PERFECT. The ending, SUPERB. :)) Prayers for a complete and speedy and full Recovery for Ms. Garr.
This is a tribute done with the heart, and I bet your favorite movie is "Young Frankstein" with Gene Wilder. Or not? I love the duet with Dustin Hoffman in Toostie. I know this little actress, but seeing the installation of your work for me this is a surprise. An actress with great quality! It would be nice to see her again on the big screen! Beautiful music Craig!
WOW! I never thought I'd see such a well-done montage of Teri's movies! I've always loved Teri too! (I posted that talk show montage of her interviews I've saved.)
Oh my gosh Craig, you are too much!!! This was sooooo wonderful!
I truley LOVED it! Teri is amazing and so darn underated! Thank you sooooo VERY much for sharing this vid and for making it in the first place! Thumbs up BIG TIME!!!
GREAT song choice! I take my hat off to ya once more, Lady E ---{--@
For a man my age this video truly resonates. Teri Garr was so fabulously ubiquitous in all the most fun, fabulous films of the late 70's and 80's. Sadly, she never achieved the Leading Lady status that Goldie Hawn monopolized. Teri was every bit as beautiful and talented. Supporting roles seemed to have been her destiny.
You've captured her canon of that time in perfectly chosen clips and perfect, as always, musical accompaniment.
@MADWORLD1427 Hahaha, dang,I knew I waz leaving somethin out,LOL! Well,u should know better than me,hahaha! But yesssssss,Tootsie waz one of my all time fave moviez, just brilliant, and I fell in luuuuuuuuu with that song then too! It'z still one of my faves to this day!;D Awesome! Beautiful job hun!;D~Lady T;D
OH WOW!!! She waz and iz one of my all time fave actresses, what a beautiful, amazingly talented, smart, eccentric, delightful, witty, and funny person she iz!!!;D Did I leave anything out? LOL;D I've seen many of the moviez u showed here, and I literally died laffin, she's one of a kind, they just don't make em like that anymore!! Thank U Craig for making this wonderful and nostalgic tribute to the amazing Teri Garr! Beautifully done!!! Btw,the song choice waz perfect, just perfect, luv it!!;D~Lady T;D
Teri Garr what became of her ,,she used to come on the Letterman show a lot ,,i was always a fan of her ,,and so nice of you to make this video ..great job
Some very nice bits in here; a very loving tribute. I love that you have "One From the Heart," '"Black Stallion" and "Pret-a-Porte" in here, three of my favorites of hers. How she missed the Best Supporting Actress Oscar nod for "Young Frankenstein" is still a mystery to me. So many classic films, such good roles, and all in a time when the general consensus was that there were few good roles for women. Terri proved that wrong. By comparison, today there is a real dearth of good parts. Good job!
Terri Garr Rocks and you did a great job on this edit and I hope she gets to see it...great Demo Reel for her...forget about what I wrote before...It was a Stuck reality check better left for a private conversation...so this is to CELEBRATE TERRI ...wonderful actress and the films she did have left us with many great memories of life...and the joy of being a woman...:)
Great One Craig!!! Just to throw 2 cents out there, Teri Garr in "Mr. Mom." Looking at the current economic situations globally in this frame of time... dare 2 say visionary... (semantics here). Brilliant as always, and that is why we saved it for our conference lunch!!! MAD LOVE from VEGAS!!! MADWORLD1427 RULEZ!!!
I think she has strong character, and is a proven actress among her peers, one thing is clearly evident, she has the lung capacity of a teenage girl! and so it goes:
I've only seen her in After Hours (watched for the first time yesterday), CE3K, Young Frankenstein, and Dumb and Dumber, but I still really like her. I should probably watch more of her stuff.... great video! thumbs up!
This is one of the MOST important videos on YT. Teri IS fabulous. I don't think even she knows how much she is loved...and what a following she has. She has been overlooked for many a great performance...and you have done a GREAT thing here...Love Teri, Love the video...Love you!
what does retrospective mean? my friend is always trying to get me to watch young frankenstein, lol. the first scene reminds me of my ex girlfriend, lol. wow, the music youve chosen is amazing. there was a train when he said train!!! dumb and dumber!!! ha ha, love that film. yaaas!!! close incountres!!!! i want to see that film again!!!!! ha, she seems like an amazing actor, i love how you ended it, also reminds me of my ex girlfriend, lol
@MADWORLD1427 Oh, yah! "Young Frankenstein" is one of my "must find" movies. Then it'll become a "must buy" movie. When I first saw this in the theatre I had sucked down two Cokes before it even started. So they literally had me pissing in my pants! ROFL! I hate going to the can in theatres. Which do you present? Ass or crotch?
I first saw Teri Garr on an episode of Star Trek (of course!) called "Assignment: Earth". The show was a pilot for a new series and she would've had steady work. It never worked out. Then I saw her in "Close Encounters" and that's when I fell in love. She definitely has a je-ne-sais-quoi and a type of beauty unique to her. (sigh!) Thanks for this vid, Duuuuuude.
And that Gene Wilder..my friend Caroline was in LOVE with him here and everywhere...Great memories. I loved Hackman she loved Wilder. I loved Pacino, Kennedy, Segal, George C. Scott..YUMMY! I WANTED him something awful at 16..LOL!
Awwww...this is wonderful, Craig! I aint even half-way thru it, and I LOVE IT already. I agree. She is way too underrated. If she ever saw this she'd melt. One of your best, very best yet!
I think the first and last scenes reflect that no man can lay a shadow on her. She can loved but never conquered.

It's not 95% it is 99%
for every 100 actors who audition ONE GETS THE JOB...leaving 99 Actors going home...thus 99%
