This is all covered in the actual program manual itself. The way the program is designed is you'll purposely cut back on your training volume for other exercises and body parts to focus on the bench press specialization workout routine. Again, just re-read the manual, everything you need to do is outlined in detail.
@leemhayward ok thanks soo much. today i benched more than ive ever done before in a workout and this is only the third day on the program! thanks so much.
I've been watching your videos a bunch over the past few weeks. I have a question and an exercise to share. If no one has mentioned a good way to work these muscles is also to use rubber bands wrapped around the fingers. That way you get repetition like you do for the other forearm muscles
My question is: Regarding PWO supplements, I know most say to cycle off to avoid stimulant saturation in the body. Do you have any tips for what to take/do PWO to keep motivated. aside from stims?
Yeah, I've got a video called "Pre and Post Workout Nutrition For Bodybuilding" if you search for that title it should be the first one in the search.
Weight is weight, so you can try using water as well. Just try not to get any around the lid as it will make it slippery, where as sand is totally dry and will not hinder your grip.
Glad I saved the protein powder jars!! A variation to what you showed could be holding all the fingers together but straight (such that all the finger pads touch each other) insert the fingers in the sand and open them while in the sand.
Great exercise that I will use, but is this the type of exercise you would recommend for tendon pain i experience in my forearm while holding it parallel to the floor, fully extending my fingers, and rotating it left and right, kinda like doing the "wishy-washy" gesture?
Hay Lee, I need help, I have tendonitis in my elbow, I got it working in the warehouse lifting and throwing boxes. What would you recommend me to do to get rid of that pain. Any exersice? I guy in my gym commented me about an injection that heal it completely but he told me that it's too dangerous. What can I do? I know rest is important, but if you know anything else I'd like you help me.
Search around for elbow supports for tendonitis. I've used some in the past and they do help keep the tendons in alignment and relieve some pain. The best one I've found looks like a C and it cups around your forearm and has an elastic strap to hold it in place.
@leemhayward Thanks, I've being planning to buy an elbow support. I'm putting some anti-inflammatory cream on the inflammated are in my elbow and some heat too. That helps A LOT.
I'm debating whether to buy your blast your bicep program or blast your bench press program. Could you explain the differences , advantages, and disadvantages of the two?
Simply put, one is an "Arm Specialization" training system. The other is a "Bench Press" specialization training system. If you are simply looking for a good overall mass building program I'd probably recommend the "Blast Your Biceps" program. It's my latest eBook and I cover a lot of new stuff that's not covered in my other programs.
I just bought your Blast Your Bench Program and in 6 days i will go on a week vacation. i was going to test my 1 rep max before the trip and then when i return start the Bench Program. i was wondering if i should get warmed up for a week after my one week vacation with no bench work outs, or just start the program right after the one week break right away.
Yes, but try and work around the pain. If any exercise hurts, don't do it, find an alternative. One thing you'll find as you get more advanced with bodybuilding is you are rarely 100% pain free, there will almost always be certain moves that don't feel right and you have to train around them.
Some good points lee..... another cause of golf or tennis muscle is where you put your arm when you sleep. Don't sleep with your head on your arm, relax your arm on the side of the body..... this simple solution helped me and others at the gym who have complained about tennis/golf elbow
hmm never even thought of that....I once tied some 550 chord (army style string that holds 550 lbs) around my fingers and some weights on the other end
Lee.. no offence but stick to what you know! You're making some false statements and giving wrongful advise here.. I'm a physical therapist, and a bodybuilder myself. When it comes to tendonitis, i've updated myself on every study made, and every treatment available. Btw, you do use your forearm extensors using handgrips. Please do not give any medical advise. People listen to you.
@bananarepublic696 How do you avoid tendinitis(elbow)? I've had this problem before on both arms. I usually wait until it heals enough. After a month I can still feel some pain that doesn't allow me to do heavier weight.
The pain is gone, and now I just make sure I stretch my forearms and do some light hammer curls.
@elchamber First of all you need to get a correct diagnosis. tendonitis is an outdated term. The inflamation usually dissapears after the acute stage. What studies have shown is that in longterm "tendonitis", a nerovascularisation has taken place. To avoid it coming back, if you're well, continue stretching and strengthen your forearms, use lighter wheigts and reps up to 3x30. also important not to overuse your forearms. The answer is to your question is more complex than this. Only pointers.
@bananarepublic696 Thanks. I do make it a priority to stretch those forearms now and, until I feel comfortable in heavier weights, I just continue to use 25lbs with high reps to keep them toned.
I've never claimed to be a doctor, and I've never even pretended to be one on YouTube :-)
But just out of curiosity where am I misleading people with this exercise? If you have better exercises, then by all means please post up some videos showing them. I'd love to see them.
@bananarepublic696 I would like to hear this myself. I don't know if muscle imbalance is the main cause of injury but it definitely is one reason. I do know these types of exercises help. It helped my elbow tendonitis in the past.
Nice I haven’t done this. I have wrapped my hand with a ace bandage and opened my hand did it for reps. The ezer it got the more I would wrap my hand for more resistance. But going to add this to the mix thanks
Hey Lee, do you have any exercises for shoulder tendonitis?
When I bench a bit heavy it really puts some uncomfortable pressure on my shoulders and I don't want to go bench without your input or ways to strengthen the tendons.
Cheers dude, I'm 18 and started going to the gym at the end of last year, and a few months in encountered a bit of tendonitis especially when doing barbell curls and couldn't stop it coming back after resting from bicep exercises for a week and eventually stopped doing barbell curls but will definitely try this and see how it works xD. Your videos are really great by the way especially for beginners.
i like to use elastic bands around the fingers and i just open and close them, adding another band every week or two, and its easier then getting a tub and filling it with sand, plus you can take it anywheres
I got these 2 years ago. I purchased 200, 250 and 300 combo. This stuff is really great for the forearms (you will get big forearms for sure) but I had a problem with tearing skin when using these.
You can wrap electrical tape around the handle that your fingers slide against to help reduce the friction and prevent tearing the skin off your fingers.
Yes, hand grippers will build up your forearms as well. If you have an imbalance between your left and right sides, you can do another set or two for your weaker side at the end of your workout.
Are you from East Coast Canada!? :)

Water would work to substitute for sand. Water is nearly as heavy as sand, and much more conveneint especially if your doing this indoors...
