The soloist was very good, the balance was pretty bad when the Viola's had that wonderful harmony, and even their melody part.. The cello and violin section were too loud the entire piece.

I played this when I was in 8th grade, 2 years ago. I had the solo. (: I never realized until watching another orchestra play it how beautiful it really is. The cellist did a really good job at the solo, and he acted cool during it. (It really is a long solo for a middle schooler.)

The tempo seems a tiiiiny bit slow in parts, and a tiny bit fast in others.

My school's orchestra did this piece a few nights ago for our fall concert. I absolutely loved it, even though it's extremely simple (i'm bass, our part was SOOO EASY). Very good. :D

I wish our school had orchestra. We just have wind instruments. I really want to learn violin. I play the flute at school. I am also teaching myself guitar.

Interesting. In the orchestra I play in for my High School, the beginning isn't a Cello Solo. Maybe my teacher doesn't want to play it that way. We aren't doing this for any concerts I don't think but I always love playing this song when we do, so full of emotion.

I thought it was really good! I'm a third year cello, first chair. My school performed this at our end of the year concert, so I got to play the cello solo in the begginning, it was so much fun! :D I love this song btw.
