I think what tit4tat is referring to is that Albert Lee hasn't sounded the same since he started using a strat style guitar. He still sounds like Albert Lee, but the lack of the very specific Tele sound IS noticeable. Now he can preface his gigs with
In my opinion the guitars sound & volume are great, cause they're so smooth... but maybe it's just me. However, isn't that the coolest bass player you've ever seen ? I love his southern attitude :)
GREAT festival by the way, keeping the blues alive :)
Vince, you stole the show with your buds Albert and James. I can't get enough of this remarkable performance. If that Tele could talk.......thanks for being there with 2 masters.
@Rickenbacker4001C64 ....how do you know it`s to sound like that?...or do all Musicman-guitars sound as if they`re played inside a tin-can? but then again there might be something wrong with my ears...well, at my age...then again there might be something wrong with yours ..or Albert`s...? one thing is for sure... the boy can play.....extraordinary....just fantastic....
@tit4tat4dat his guitar sounds good. he's known for playing with a clean sound. Albert always prefaces his gigs with: “Welcome to the Distortion-Free Zone.
@tit4tat4dat I don't know what you are referring to when you say Albert Lee's guitar doesn't sound right. I was making a sandwich in another room and heard Albert's solo start and I knew right away it was him from the distinctive sound he has.
Vince Gill is one of the most underrated guitar players of our time...

Vince's solo sounds the best. Albert sounds to quiet. I guess Mo doesn't do twang.

Don't know if anyones ears have a problem, I do think that the guitars are a bit hard to hear. Just a bit louder would have been awesome.
Maybe that's the problem?

@ghostdog1987
Also...I'm talking about the solos. They could be a bit louder during the solos.
