I have been to 30 meters for 17 minutes. Do you know what a meter is? How old are you? Have your 12 year old friends told you this? 60 ft? omg And to top that they are Dive Master Level Advanced? Yeah I feel hostile, your ignorant and can't listen to someone who tells you real facts.

Dude I don't know...that looked pretty real to me. Looks like he was breathing that Nitrous Oxide stuff too. Wonder if that contributed to anything..... we may never know.
Dude, I don't know what you're on...you must have gone to the dentist and got on some of that Nitrox stuff. Canned air? Canned air is used to clean out my pc from dust. I know people that do advanced diving, they even go past 50 feet. They use this mix of oxygen, nitrous oxide, and triglycerides. They carry like 20 tanks with them...each filled with the gas they need. The triglycerides are the most important so they can stay down for over 20 minutes at 50 feet.
Wow man..you're hostile and you swear to. I think you need to get one of those volt meters and check to see how your tanks are charged up. I bet they are charged to 3000volts...lolol. Pwned!!
Congratulations on being a diver, guess that means you have a wealth of knowledge on diving uhh? How deep have you been? My friends sometimes go all the way down to 60 feet...they even stayed there for 45 minutes one time. One is a Master Diver Level Advanced.
@lorenkolic Santum is not about this, and so loosely based off of anything its more of a compilation of things that have gone wrong in cave diving. The filmmaker who was present gave an interview where he explained that no one even ended up dying in that event. Hollywood just needs bodies to sell movies and none of the people who almost all are still alive to this day would want to be shed in the light of having made foolish mistakes so it was a movie that spins in many non-associated events.
some real stupid morons... jump off of a flying air-craft without any parachutes on would be the next option of your IQ level... that shall also put an end to your miserable existance...
Why did he "leave his buddy" to stay and "look at his compass" that was pure stupidity in my opinion.. You can look at your compass while swimming, also its not much use if its a "labyrinth" as they describe it..
Glad he made it out, but not noticing your going into a cave.. really?
If your diving in unfamiliar surroundings you should make a risk assessment/site assessment before you dive.. maybe dive there in the day before the night if your not with someone who knows the site
Dont know bout you guys but if i was to do any caving i think i would use reinforced lines, chemical stics, spare mask, backup tourches, twin set, side slungs, have some kind of surface cover ect
@97Arran Yeah same here. I don't know why you would do something like that and not give your self an easy way to find your way back. Bunch of morons, but good they got out I guess. It doesn't take a genius to know not to leave your diving partner. Seems like some rope and some light sticks is a small cheap price to pay for some certainty on the path back out of the place. I imagine they thought of that if they ever went out again.
He should have not left his dive buddy that is one of the first rules they teach you, they also should not have been diving in that area without the proper training not just their lives what about the rescue teams
Well damn, no ending to the video. Who posted this teaser?
They were saved. The chickenshit buddy made his way out, called 911 and Gant was rescued after 18 hours of having his nose stuck into an air pocket. He was hallucinating by the time rescue arrived, and thought his rescuers were angels.
TVA lowered the lake level to dry out the cave, wasting a quarter-million dollars in hydroelectricity, Plus, the area was posted No Trespassing - $25,000 fine. The two divers were shitbirds.
They didn't lay a line because they didn't take the near by caves into account, showing no real environmental assessment before the dive. Even so a seasoned diver will always be weary of their surroundings and carry a spool, even a short one with them in case of such emergencies. His second huge mistake was leaving his dive buddy, extremely irresponsible had he stayed he might have been able to surface with his friend avoiding all of this, kudos on the other guy for bailing out though...
What's even stupider is they were going spearfishing at night...I am an avid spearo, and love night diving, but wouldn't mix the two....and especially in an area I don't know much about....spearfishing at night near a cave.....pretty suicidal....
In am surprised! Not really! The first rule before entering a cave is lay a line! That when when the silt is kicked up or you become disorientated you turn around and it's hand over hand all teh way to the exit. PADI DM 647814
If your navigation skills are poor, getting lost?? wandered into a cave without knowing it - I think not. I have over 200 dives and I have always asked people/someone about the dive site I am about to dive.
Diving brownwater at night it's not hard to occasionally get turned around, even momentarily, which is all it takes. I've been in the lakes in TN and KY and there are many caves in that region, some of which aren't documented or known well enough to learn about from other divers. It's not like diving coasts around commercial resorts/operations where sheer numbers have amassed substantial knowledge of dive spots. As to snorkels, they're handy in shallow water noodling/spearfishing, even w/scuba.
I can agree with you that it doesn't take much to get turned around, however leaving your dive buddy?? that is scary stuff. As for the snorkels they are handy at times and it is a PADi rule however if a person goes into overhead environments no one takes a snorkel - too easy to get caught on things.
Too much of cost to not be aware of your surroundings they are very lucky divers - thank goodness
depends on were you dive, im from denmark and i dive here and in norway, i dive a lot wrecks and some of them is upside down so you have to be carefull not to penetrate by accident, because of the angel one dives in you dont look up much. i can understand this happend and i dont think his a bad diver because i couldnt fin his way out. But i agree they should have known about the caves.
I agree - amateurs!! First they are wearing snorkels - in confined environments you never where a snorkel - too easy to get caught on things. Second no line!! how stupid is that!! 3rd leaving your dive buddy. Where were they trained??
Diving is safe as long as your ego doesn't get in the way.
even dive rules of thirds for your air - stupid stupid divers
okay these guys are amateurs. every rookie diver knows that if you enter any confined space you bring a line so you can follow it out. a tank of air usually last a little longer than an hour with an experienced diver so you would do 30mins in one direction and 30 mins back, not an hour in the same direction! finally, you NEVER split up with your partner. these morons are lucky they arent fish food.
Actually, you should never use more than 1/3 of your or your partner's or any of your team member's air before turn point when diving in overhead environment.
If you only have 1/2 of air capacity and your partner suffers a major failure with his/her gear near the turning point and is forced to share your tanks, you won't make it back to surface.
Diving in caves or under ice is fascinating experience but I really recommend even a basic Cavern training. And you should never do it with single tank.
God your stupid, didn't you notice him telling what happened to himself, obviously he made it out. These are only short clips from shows anyway so more often then not the clips are going to leave us hanging.
yeah your real macho huh Loperis, i guess your the new chuck norris now right? Youve probably been in WWII, Vietnam, and Iraq. Youve probably lost oxygen on the moon and lived.
