I assume they were civilians. @niceboy60 sure, "some" people are upset, but let's be clear here. 57 countries have participated in Operation Enduring Freedom, whether logistically (air space, etc) or directly (sending troops). In Operating Iraqi Freedom it was 43 countries.
These countries were messed up prior to the war. Extreme Wahhabi thoughts and law led to multiple conflicts, genocides and cultural repression in these regions. There still might be skirmishes, but they aren't butchering each other on goal posts anymore.

@ramonibeya yes there were civilian casualties, like in every war. I was in fallujah and we came across houses that had jail cells and people who had been tortured and killed within those. I assume they were civilians. But after a few months of radio broadcasts and pamphlets dropped in fallujah to get out because American forces are gonna clear it, why would any civilian stay unless they were with the insurgency?? Remember I was there, you weren't.

@deadorfree K; we only trained mujahadeen/taliban never al qaeda. and we originally trained them to fight the russkies and supplied them arms.and falluja itself isnt holy but the massive cementary and mosques are. ive nevr heard nor seen of a real freedom fighter in iraq, only sunnis blowing up shia and shia dishing it back. alot of time iran helps fund the sunnis to blow up shia if they will also attck coelition troops.as far as saying that we planted mercaniery extremists thats just crazy talk
