This is from a BBC production called "Engelbert and the Young Generation" that aired in Germany and the UK in 1972. I have the German version. Most of the show is in German except for the songs. I think that it was commercially available in Europe at one time. I don't know if it still is.

I didn't think Englebert sounded cheesy at all. In fact as big a Bobby Darin fan as I am I'm sure it must have been uncomfortable to stand next to that guy while he was in his prime in terms of voice & stage presence.

Incredibly moving r&b interpretation by Darin of the Dylan classic. I prefer it to the Bobby's original cover. On the other hand, Englebert's rendition is just cheesy. Very rare clip. Thanks for posting.

He looks so small next to Engelbert. I don't like watching clips from '72. He looks so ill- and his soul or his voice just didn't seem to be there. However- zoom to the Mack is Back special- and just watch Splish Splash- back on form!

I like this clip because I really like the song "Blowin' in the Wind" (especially Bobby's LP version), but this is the only video that I've been able to find of Bobby singing it. It's from a TV series called "Englebert with the Young Generation" that aired in the UK and Germany. I only have the one episode, and most of it, except for the songs, is in German. I got it from a friend. I think that she got it from someone who found it overseas.
