You know, after I saw this I called my shinobue teacher and she mentioned that she had gone to see Owara Kaze no bon. So she was there same time as you were!

Just curious.. how sure are you about accuracy of the meaning of the hats, festval etc.. I just ask because I was familiar with Obon as being more of a festival of the spirits (welcoming the returned dead ancestors) By the way, this is the same kind of hats they use for Awa-odori. You should really check out awa-odori.

Also, I really liked the owarakaze bon song. really beautiful..

@mafurock33 Obon takes place during the middle week of August, so this is a different festival altogether. If you look up "Owara Kaze no Bon" on Wikipedia you should be able to find the article I used for this video. :)
