Might need to get your facts right. This car originally came out with the modular 5.4 litre ford V8 but that was tossed in favour of the Cleveland v8 that used to be in his Ford Cortina. Sometimes it pays to do a bit of research on these things instead of masturbating over the clip you know.

hmm no its generally a really good thing to have. if its runnin a rich methanol mix (which cools the compressed air) they can ditch it but you run the risk of detonation. havin no intercooler takes out the pressure drop you can get, normally 2-3 psi but that could small amount makes a big difference on the dyno.

that and on methanol, theres less risk of detonation

the only thing an intercooler would do is make more piping=more lag

so basically the huge turbo would never spool with an intercooler lol

Lag does not really effect peak hp numbers, plus you don't need a big intercooler. It can be small and still help.

you don't NEED intercoolers to make power, it just makes the inlet air more dense, but even at S.A.T.P, a big V8 doesn't need an intercooler to make huge power.

Actually, you don't need them to make power however it helps with both safety and power. An intercool not only works to make the air dense, it also works to make it cool. (no dah) however the cool air means that the engine is less likely to detonate, meaning its much safer. This then means you can run even more boost, meaning even more power as the engine is less likely to detonate. (pink, ping, whatever you wanna call it)
