  • If you hVE ANY ADVICE FOR ME I JUST GOT ONE and i have know whst idea what they like to eat

  • @kingbucky6 They love bloodworm and live food

  • @kingbucky6 They love bloodworm and live food

  • @kingbucky6 do not use shrimp though it will pollute the tank and never used dried food, only frozen; the dried food has no nutritional value. also they are nocturnal which means they also scavenge for food at night. sprinkle a little fish flake if you have other fish shut out bright lights and drop em in and watch him use his electro pulse to find food. als oyou can train the to eat from your hand as well!

  • @GTaege83 Thank you so much now im having a problem with keeping my water clear here is my set up im running 2 rena xp3 canister filters and 2 auqaclear70 power heads and i still have cloudy water any adivice would go a long way thanx bucky

  • @kingbucky6 The couldiness could be caused by several things, overfeeding is usually the main cause followed by algea spores in the water. I use Clear water drops and algea drops simply purchaced at walmart. Try not to use any of those fizz tabs..anything with a warning that it has chemicals known to cause cancer in the state of California scares me, why would I expose my fish to that?

  • @GTaege83 Thank you so much i just got a cam soon i will be up loading a pic of my tank you have been a big help help bucky.....

  • @kingbucky6 anytime k.i.t my email is the same as my sn @gmail.com... would love to swap tank and fish pics and know how it went!

  • @kingbucky6 black ghost knife get big somtime like 50 cm they love frozen blood worm and also like mysis and brine shrimp

  • Are they saltwater and which size do they get?

  • @TheRafield no not salt water will kill them, they get big lol

  • Oh they are fresh water? I WANT ONE *_*

  • @TheRafield They have been reported to get as large as 20inches in the wild but will max out between 10-15 in your tank. They are most comfortable in anything 55 gallons and over the best suggested tank size to meet maximum growth though is 100 gallons.

  • i just got one of these fish they are the coolest fish i have ever seen and for me he is doing great in a community tank but he isnt very big yet but when he gets bigger i am going to be putting him in a bigger tank

  • How big a tank do they need when they are fully grown?

  • change the music. nice knife tho

  • LOL whats up with the music.??

  • Sadly our little chap died RIP Mr Knifey such a character xxx

  • GUTTED

  • @fishyloves wait, it died? If so, I'm really sorry for your loss. Do you know why it died?

  • i just did that today and i just got it yesterday and i hand fed my dinosaur bichir

  • My boyfriend just put some bloodworm near him in his fingers and and he came straight for it,now every time he puts his hand in the water he comes out of his cave .even when he has nothing for him, weird fish lol

  • how do you get them to be hand-fed? I've had mine for only six days and all he does is hide in the cave...

  • I love when they search and search for the food, and go insane when they find it!

My Black Ghost is only a little bigger than yours, I've had him for almost three months now! He has just started coming out of his cave to be handfed, usually I just have to put my hand at the mouth of it and wait for him to grab it.

  • @PartAwesome Yeah, I like that too. I've had mine now for about 2 weeks now in a 60g. He's getting frozen bloodworm, brine, and mysis. He goes beserk. I even drop in a cube for him at night when he's really active. He is becoming more and more confident with coming out of his cave and looking for food. This fish is quickly becoming one of my favorite fish I've ever had.

  • I want a black ghost knife fish. :3

  • GET ONE YOU WONT REGRET IT

  • @fishyloves i have two and their a mating pair already have a baby

  • @suburbanshicken how exactly did you go about sexing them as well as breeding? because, all the research on this fish i've done there has been NO reports of them mating in captivity.

  • @GTaege83 well i found a ghost knife at a local store and they called it an albino but when i went home and took a look at the fins, i noticed the "albino" had different fins so thats (i think) how it happened but sadly my baby died not to long after

  • why only two weeks?

  • Because thats when we bought him from the shop ...............
