i'm pretty sure it's the morale meter. Basically it tells you how good or bad your troops on the ground are doing

There are ground combat levels on dragonback and one or two missions on foot.

Most of it is spent in the air but there are few things as satisfying as running around amongst foot soldiers on your dragon and tearing them to bits.

To be honest all this console bashing gets on my tits. Both consoles are good. I have a 360 and a PS3 and both are good consoles. Xbox rocks for online multiplayer and PS3 is great for games like uncharted and and the built in blu-ray. My advice? If you can afford it get both and enjoy them equally.

Dear god sambo. All 3 consoles are designed for gaming. Whereas the Xbox 360 and PS3 have more graphic capabilities the wii opts for a diffrent style of play. It is not a "family console not really designed for gaming". Nintendo is trying to introduce other age groups into the gaming community by releasing 'casual' games that all can enjoy. Granted there may not be as many games considered 'hardcore' compared to the other two consoles but, that doesnt mean its not a "gaming" console.
