  • well you're right I guess. Years of 'sanding' by the people listening to me wore a lot of it off. Watch this space for a guest appearance though!

  • @terrymarotta Lady you sound like your doing a irish accent. anyways there is not just one accent in boston the irish sound like you the italians sound totaly different more like jersey

  • @terrymarotta the irish boston accent is that WHINEY VOICE like elmafudd and jfk had a baby. its like a 6th grade voice.

  • You kiddin me you don't have any Boston accent!!

  • @Dillboy

  • My last name is Marotta.. are you related to a Frank?

  • @msxjustine

I don't think so. It's my married name but our people seem to be from Medford mostly

  • There are many different Boston accents ! i'm from Boston too ! hahaha love it ! Be Proud

  • @itsVERYeri

there sure are! I ought to get my nephew to talk on heah . talk about your broad Boston accent!

  • My mom is from Boston and I love making her mad because the accent is much more pronounced. We live in Texas.

  • You have the older elegant boston accent versus the younger generation of boston accents that tend to be more harsh. Also, the outskirts of boston such as Dorchester have a slightly different accent than those who live in the city. If you utube president Kennedy speeches, this is a perfect example of the true Boston accent (old generation).

  • well this is a compliment I think ! I am officially old now I guess with my old Boston accent.

I will have to do more to see if I really do have an accent and what kind I have .

My people (all Irish) hailed from western MA in the 1860s so I speak as I was spoken to as a little girl in Boston in the 50s and 60s. Thanks for this :-)

  • LAME

  • @JayJokesAlot I got to agree with you this woman is a little Lame because not everyone in Boston talks like this. I'm from Boston and so are my parents. We don't talk like that at all. Some people talk like that who live in either South Boston or the suburbs. But as for Boston as a whole we do not all talk like that. She's knida corny with this video.

  • You sound like me and I am from The Bronx.

  • BOSTON! :D

  • The accent of my childhood. Love it.

  • Perfect, natural. Nothing exaggerated :)

  • well i guess I like it pretty well too :-)

  • well i guess I like it pretty well too

  • @terrymarotta What I want to know is why black people and Hispanic people from Boston do not talk like that? When they talk it sounds like a New York Accent?

  • @MaxxRedSox

I'm not sure but I think maybe if you are from the Black or Hispanic community a sense of solidarity has you speaking first the way your people speak and then only secondarily the way the folks in your region speak.. Dunno really!

  • @terrymarotta But I was born and raised in Boston and so were my parents but we don't talk like the way you do or the way people across the globe assume Bostonians do. Its just interesting to think about when you go deeper into the whole accent and Boston thing and take a closer look. Because Not everyone speaks like that who are from Boston. Same thing with New York not everyone has the same accent. However everyone has a similar accent when it comes to sounding out vowels. Boston is not!

  • I absolutely love Boston accent! :)
