After years and years of machinima- and videomaking I've come to understand that the creator always sees his videos awful. Don't get tricked, you're doing fine.
(P.S. if you're about to check, don't bother. my art isn't in youtube.)
I like the video and especially love the song. I made an AMV with clips from Gundam Seed, but like you I feel my video could be so much better than it turned out to be. Yours however does have a nice rhythm to it which loses some of it's pacing around the 1:58 mark, but regains it again shortly after. I would love to see your remake of this AMV when it's done. I have to check your videos to see if you haven't done this already. :) Good job nonetheless!
I have to agree with Catula as well. You could use some scenes from when Aang was looking for Oppa in the desert Or the one flying scene when he and Momo first took of to fly to Ba-sing-sai (hope I spelled it right) The part with the avitars form long past was perfect though. Well done. I wihs I had this song I love it so much. Fill me with hope for the future the first time i saw that part on Titan A.E.
Pretty good! I really enjoyed the whole concept of this video. I do agree with Catula2 about the flying thing, but I can still see what you where going for. Though, if you keep the metaphor in mind, it works very well. Concerning timing: some of the beats you hit were PERFECT. But I was a bit disappointed that you left some fight scenes drag on too long (namely between Zuko and Aang). Still, very very cool. : )
I'm just astonished this is my second most fav'ed and visited AMV. After reading yours and mithcada's comments on this AMV, I actually looked at the video again (which I had not done since its uploading) and the first thought that came through my mind was "What a piece o' crap." As I said with mithcada and in my edit of the vid description, the urge to redo this SOB is so strong.
Though I will admit the urge to redo this AMV is so strong. And tempting. And strong. And slightly contradictory, since I promised myself I won't do any more "updates" on my AMVs after "Koh's Lullaby."
One thing I'd suggest changing: since the theme of the song is "flying", you might want to have more airbending clips in there. Other than that little note, it's a solid video.
I see what you are talking about. In fact, that was the original take on the vid. But I decided instead to put it in a different approach, using the flight theme as a metaphor Aang's powers and his duties as the Avatar. It kinda got lost in the video though.
I love this video....
