The Cultural Revolution was the farthest advance towards Communism in human history.

Liu Shaoqui was a TRAITOR to his country and to the Revolution and he more than deserved to be executed. And the Cultural Revolution would have succeeded if it hadn't been for Zhou Enlai's TREACHERY. He was the one who framed Lin Biao, he was the one who re-habilited Deng Xiaoping.

I have studied the Chinese cultural revolution for years and to me this video summary of its history seem quite accurate. Not quite sure why so many dislikes, but it is quite accurate, of course it is too short to comprehensively cover the entire movement.

@derfuhrer: that's the current chinese governments position to admit the deaths yet still sanctify mao as the basis of their current rule. mao chased out or killed everyone else in his "government" in never ending power struggles. it was always what mao said goes. yes he was careful to rarely have it in writing because he was a politician but it doesn't mean he wasn't pulling all the strings.  at the very least he could have stopped it, but when called on it he'd just kill the messenger.

I was born and grew up in Inner Mongolia.Your Opinion is right.The culture revolution not only killed those who didn't believe in communism,but also aimed at all intellectuals,espacialy teachers,artists and scientists,because Mao thought these people tended to deviate from the revolutionary principle and became a threat to the majority of people.Innumeral social elites were killed or percecuted,including Shaoqi Liu,chairman.
