my grandparents were professors during the cultural revolution. they've told me some fucked up stories about what the red guard did to them. crazy history, man...
The Cultural Revolution was the farthest advance towards Communism in human history.
Liu Shaoqui was a TRAITOR to his country and to the Revolution and he more than deserved to be executed. And the Cultural Revolution would have succeeded if it hadn't been for Zhou Enlai's TREACHERY. He was the one who framed Lin Biao, he was the one who re-habilited Deng Xiaoping.
One day, hopefully, in the not so distant future, China will open and become a multi-party state. Still one China, but multi-party. Then, perhaps the truth about the terrible years of Mao will be known and the Mao statues replaced by memorials to the victims of his regime.
Fanatical, brainwashed, ultra-nationalist, hypocritical and hate-filled racists like 'SHUTUPNOOB654' are simply too entrenched in their own twisted views that they respond to all criticism with racist rants about 'the west'
I have studied the Chinese cultural revolution for years and to me this video summary of its history seem quite accurate. Not quite sure why so many dislikes, but it is quite accurate, of course it is too short to comprehensively cover the entire movement.
haha really you wont become an emperor by reading books? i have read that when he started receiving money from the soviet union he quit both of his jobs and spent some time eating and reading books.
@binaskmita Don't put all your faith in Liu Xiaobo. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. I believe that Mao had the same vision for China as Liu did initially, but wielding that absolute power caused Mao to corrupt himself. Whats China needs right now is to unite with Taiwan!
@junSr: the secret was the cultural revolution killed or exiled anyone who didn't believe. so there literally is no one left there who doesn't want to believe. you don't have to brainwash as much when you naturally select them first. but then yes tight control of media, textbooks etc... and harsh punishments and you can make people believe whatever.
@derfuhrer: that's the current chinese governments position to admit the deaths yet still sanctify mao as the basis of their current rule. mao chased out or killed everyone else in his "government" in never ending power struggles. it was always what mao said goes. yes he was careful to rarely have it in writing because he was a politician but it doesn't mean he wasn't pulling all the strings. at the very least he could have stopped it, but when called on it he'd just kill the messenger.
I think chinese brainwashing is incredible... wonder what the chinese people think of the communist party's massacre at tianmen. or the history based nationalist education that followed to make sure that the new generation would support the communist party. anybody a nationalist chinese? Please share with me your views.
@junSr I'm a collage boy in South China University of Technology. I was born and grew up in Inner Mongolia.Your Opinion is right. The culture revolution not only killed those who didn't believe in communism, but also aimed at all intellectuals, espacialy teachers, artists and scientists, because Mao thought these people tended to deviate from the revolutionary principle and became a threat to the majority of people.Innumeral social elites were killed or percecuted, including Shaoqi Liu,chairman.
@junSr See how unimaginable china's brainwashing was? According to conservative estimate,Mao killed at least 30,000,000 chinese people.I don't know how many people Hitler killed, but you know what, Mao is still called The Great Leader of Chinese Nation, untill now!
But things are changing.Nowadays,to brainwash someone is getting harder, because most people are well educated and they nolonger belive whatever they were told without thinking.
@junSr We all know what happend and what's going on,but we won't claim our opinions in public occations because we don't have much freedom of speech.Of course, you could say anything, but if you publish your opinions that are anti-party,you're in trouble.Chinese media and news and every social institutions are directly controlled by the party.
@junSr We don't want to give the government too much pressure because we don't want a new civil war.The Communist Part is evil, but no one could take the place of it for the moment, and it's performing well in econimic growth.
Social justice and welfare are also improving. So,for chinese people, maintaining the status is the best choice.
I made such a detailed explanation for I don't wish western people misunderstand Chinese people.
Were are neither stupid nor evil, this is what I'm trying to say!
mao read all kinds of books that hypocrite. why is calling someone "hitler" the worst insult when mao was 10x worse and killed 10x more. he's pure evil.
well, nsdap was nationalsozialistishe deutshe arbeitpartei - sozial-national german workers party. source of nazizm-national socialis and communism was one - collectivism - ideology that assumes advantage of the group-class, nation, social group over the individual and right of this group to impose its will(articulated by the "avanguard"-nsdap or kpcc) by force, also dictatur of this non-elected group. and who is "fucking ingorant moron now"?
better dead than red. hope greatest mass murder of the XXcentury will burn in hell, together with Adolf, Jospeh Stalin, Pol Pot, Fidel, Che, and other scumbags. We should be pissing on their graves; Nazis and commies - one piece of shit, no difference whatsoever
@sheepandgreen Oh yeah,Jananese and Koreans are really smarter than Chinese! They really know how to live. 1000 years ago they made themselves China's little dogs, now they make themselvs US's little dogs! Why couldn't Chinese people think out a way like that?
Japanese and Koreans are much richer and live a better life than Chinese now, so they think they are smarter than Chinese people. They've forgotten who their predecessor master was.
But this situation would not last too long, because no one could stop the developing step of China, and US would never let his dogs become too strong.Look at What US did to Japan in 1990s.
Typicall USA propaganda, anyone who read a little of Mao will realize that he never says to people "don´t think, just believe me", those who say that are the USA media "don´t think just believe the lies that Bush and CNN tell you!!"
@Grimaldo35 Yeah sure, just calling those who recognise Mao's oppression, enslavement, wasting of millions of lives and brainwashing as good old "USA propaganda' is an easier option than admitting the true nature of megalomaniacs like this who use ideologies like socialism for their own ends, as happened with so many supposedly 'socialist' dictators The real proof is in deeds not words. Orwell's Animal Farm sums it up; those believing such promises of 'paradise' on earth are tragically naive.
@EvilSirJasper Mao was the leader of chinese revolution, a national revolution which counted with active and heroic support of the whole chinese people, it was not oppression or enslavement at all.
And Orwell was a reactionary who was abe to elaborate a list with the names of writers he thought were communists to a CIA likned organization.
@Grimaldo35 :I am chinese , and I know you are either stupid or bullshitting, many people in chin a hate evil mao, his photo does not deserve on the tiananmen wall.
@lanzhe26 Well, you are stupid enough for not understanding what you read. I said Chinese Revolution had complete support of chinese peasants, no that there weren´t reactionaries or rightists like you in China!!
Deng Xiao Ping betrayed chinese revolution and launched a massive anti-communist campaign in last 70s. After years of lies, exaggerations and false accusations it´s not surprising Mao and revolution are not as popular as they were between 40s to 70s
@EvilSirJasper dude.. its MOSTLY true. the west is afraid of china. it is their only competition. if SO many chinese hate Mao, why is there so many statues all over the country? my father, mom, grandparents also like him. u dont understand, because u are from the west. in the east, the story CAN be different. dont always listen to what the news tell you too. they jsut want to make a buck out of a story. even if they need to make it more exciting.
@mindawareness Respecting a person, is different from following what he teaches. Learn that, pathetic filth. I respect Mao, does that make me a Maoist? no. If someone respects their friends, do they act like them? if you respect an animal. Do you act like an animal? no.

@mindawareness You are an idiot. I highly expected to hear ''Mao is evil'' and ''Mao the king'' from a pathetic cunt stereotypical american such as yourself. You say shit, but you can't get any facts or evidence. LOL you can't even spell correctly, dumbass.

Obama is echoing Mao, and if Americans fail to learn Mao's methods, they will reap a similar genocide: young against old; poor against wealthy.
