Tears rolling for this one. How anyone can kill a dog is beyond me. They're so loving & just want to play & be loved. It amazed me that people can still breed, NOT neuter & buy from petstores instead of shelters. :( Ignorance causes this. In New England there are all no - kill shelters. IF that governor signed, does that mean there are no kill shelters now?

Wonderful to hear that gassing has been banned. Hopefully more countries will follow our lead and use more humane methods of euthanasia. And hopefully, there will be a day when there are no more homeless animals being killed. If I remember correctly, there were still a few states that use gas chambers, like Georgia. The Gassing will be banned in the State of New Mexico on June 19th, 2009. Because of the hard work of many, including Carol, Governor Bill Richardson signed the bill. Now, we must focus on other states that still gas. Carol's youtube channel is freespeechrules100.

The man wrote that every thursday night, before Friday where they do the gassing, he goes into the dog chambers with $50 of Mcdonalds food and plays with them and feeds them. He then takes about 10 kittens and pregnant cats and smuggles them out to be set free. He takes 4 anxiety pills (something which I thought to be impossible) and wears earplugs and cries every day, can barely sleep, and hallucinates. He knows that he's going to hell, he said.

I understand the guilt this man must be feeling. He has to pray for guidance to help these animals, to stop these killings.I am an animal activist, in Montreal, Canada, presently fighting to close a pound using the gas chamber. Witnesses to these atrocities must come forward and commit themselves to sign affidavits and testify against these evil pound owners. Many times, the witnesses get scared for fear of being sued and withdraw their statements.This does not help us in our fight.

I read a letter that a man who has the job of gassing them wrote, and I, a very hardened person to death, a person, who at 10 years old did not shed a tear at his grandmothers death, wept over what I had read. WOW! LOVED IT! If all of the rescues join hands and worked together as one, we could save so many more. What is funny is that people will pay a donation fee of 150.00 to 300.00 but could save a wonderful dog themselves by just going into shelters for a fraction of the cost. I saved a beautiful girl, white with blue (glass) eyes for $55.00. That covered everything. Yet they die every day because it is "too depressing to go in there". Or "there must be something wrong with them" SAD
