  • we dont love them whores

  • This song is badass LOL just posted it on Facebook

  • this version of "gin and juice" actually got this band a hood pass through out L.A

  • this ends at 420..lol

  • I got a mandolin, all I need now is a beard and a bass player that likes to look at me.

  • I think they guys are getting tired of performing this one. Every time I see them live, they do this song faster and faster. I think they just want to get it over with.

  • The KKK has grown ever-increasingly tolerant of the hip hop genre.

  • anyone else notice that this video is 4:20 just perfect

  • lol, the "RUN RUN!" part, scared the shit out of me XD 0:53

  • @Fallou4Fun its "But What?" not Run Run,but the audio on here made it sounds like thazt

  • the gourds go hard

  • @jcthomas521 gourdinn right out! haha'

  • The lead singer has a beard.

  • why does everybody always think phish or blues traveler covered this? the singer sounds nothing like either of them. glad i finally found out who actually did, though.

  • Was the bass player smoking a joint?

  • @cooldaddy996

yea, pretty sure he was. lmao!!! Which would explain his looking fucked up. ;-)

  • lol nice!

  • Japanese Cavemen in F# minor!!

  • dude in the stripped shirt is fucked up, trippin balls or something. lol lucky bastard

  • Be ah you ta full Beotches, so glad the story bin straited out.

    What a sonnet.

  • Man! that would have been awesome.

  • @joefrench555 LoL, I know... It just cracked my ass up when I saw him gettin' down.

  • @ 1:10... white people getting down!

  • @dedhedchem white people always get down my man. do you not remember the 60s? lol or the early 90s in the uk? the acid and ecstacy generations.

  • Look at all them white people dancing...

  • lol. how the hell did i stumble onto this. hahaha this is awesome!

  • WOW! I have never heard of The Gourds...but I LIKE them! :)

  • What album can I find this on I use to have it on a mix cd of Phish and Widespread panic but someone stole it and now I cat find this version of the song can anyone help?

  • laid back with my mind on my money and money on my mind

  • so much better then snoops version!!!!!!!!! any of u who disagree.....FUCK YOU!

  • 8 people are bloods

  • Ive seen these guys bout 10 times live. They not only rock the hell out of Gin and Juice but they rock out some other hip hop stuff which is hilarious. Not to mention their own stuff they've written, these guys are seriously rockin. Think early Phish, Moe, Widespread Panic, Dead, when they were just jammin f*** it all lets have a good time, get ripped and jam. Thats these guys, every time I have seen them, totally rockin. Go see these guys. Id pay more for their ticket than Phish or Panic.

  • I am pretty sure they did it to have fun , I do not think they wanted to steal "credit". Its still Snoop Dogg's song. Just because its and awesome version of a song doesn't mean The Gourds are stealing the song nor are they trying to be accredited for the talent of writing it. Just reconize that they did a great job in their own way and listen to the music.

  • this as prob the scariest thing a black person could ever see

  • @mackie73 yes nothing frightens rappers more than musicians playing their own instruments. this is like reverse sampling. i love it.

  • *sigh* wasn't that a really popular thing for white boy bands to do in 50's and 60's? To steal popular black r&b and make it their own with no credit givin to the original performer? "dreamgirls" mocks this at one point in the movie....

  • @r0b0tj0n3s ... except for the part where they say "Snoop D-O-G-G."

  • @r0b0tj0n3s actually snoop dogg knows about this lol

  • @dizy91 and loves it

  • still think Phish did it... phuck all yall...

  • they should do a live album (maybe they have lol)

  • I LOVE THIS!!!! And Phish didnt do a cover of this (at all)

  • this song is on one for Rehab CD i dont know whitch one i lost it :s

  • If you think this is Phish, do two things: 1) Look up a Phish video 2) KYS

  • This isn't the gourds, this is Phish idiots.

  • @redresch You wear your ignorance proudly and for all to see, like a shiny badge.

  • Yea dudes need to lighten up ,..if they want to sing gin and juice then be my guess.

  • Blue Grass meets Heavy Metal - I love the bass notes and all the rest. Great Jam

  • Holy shit, they do it a faster here!

  • you niggers need to find a sense of humor. if crackers wanna make bluegrass music to rap songs, unless you made the fucking song, dont worry about it.

  • Hardly Strictly Festival in Golden Gate Park?

  • Good shit

  • how can you hate on this? dudes took an awesome rap song and made it a completely different. snoop dogg should thank these dudes for getting a bunch of random white people who would never hear his music dancing (horribly) but dancing none the less.

  • do the people in the crowd know whats going on? lol

  • 6 dislikes: 6 stupid niggers

  • omg wtf yes!

  • mad bas line

  • @yoyohooyo who cares

  • I love this cover haha better than the original.

  • i first heard this song on a bus from the person in front and i had my head just behind his and well when his stop came well he wasn't happy

  • Totally awesome.

  • ye cant beat the sound of agood old mandolin and fiddle player there mean muisicans good stuff

  • This isn't Phish ??!

  • This is a stellar Phish SHow

  • If you like this one, check out the Richard Cheese lounge cover. He does a really good Frank Sinatra / Dean Martin type version.

  • my god they're goin like warp speed!!

  • Snoop would be proud!

  • rednecks be straight gangsta

  • Haha funny white people!!

  • hahaha dope!!

  • you can download this song

  • Kicks ass.

  • im from scotland and what i see here is rednecks saying fuck it we are not racist anymore lets have good time!!am i wrong?

  • Snoop has a song on Ego Trippin that's inspired by johnny cash, so yea it's all American style roots music if you think about it.

    Who invented blues?

O yea black American musicians, and it became the foundation for rock n roll AND country...

    My Medicine

  • Here is a message from holland. What a great covered song by these guys.

    Chears,

    Ed

  • @lrn2playnub apparently snoop can't get over it either.

  • i cant get over it and im black lol

  • @lrn2playnub it IS rather repetitive

  • @lrn2playnub you are a turd...like rappers aren't the biggest rip of artists of all time.

  • @lrn2playnub u suck dick

  • @lrn2playnub lolumadbro? white power

  • crazy arse mutherfucka's pmsl

  • this fuckin rocks

  • That's a jammin' fucking band!

    The Gourds rock!

  • YES

  • 2:47 Fiddle solo FTW!

  • Nice to see a great West Coast Gangsta Rap song breakin into other genres. Not really my taste of music right here i like the original myself.

  • @SmokeakaMicB its weird to see other music stealing from rap instead of rap stealing the beats, lyrics and music from others...

  • @SmokeakaMicB that came off a lot m,ore negative sounding than i intended...?

  • Bad ass!

  • LUVED 2 HAD BEEN THERE!!!!!!!!!

  • this is the best shit!!!!!! can't get enough!!!!!!

  • The bass player looks like the caveman from the Geico commercials.

  • No way dude, he looks like that guy for Phish!

  • Ye haw! Making Austin, TX proud!!!!

  • What makes this even better is the fact that Snoop likes it. Thats what makes a real artist, someone that can listen to their song in another genre and still think its dope.

  • I've never really been a huge rap fan, but I love the stuff Snoop Dogg puts out. His stuff is different to me, because it's actually pretty funny listening to the lyrics. Plus, as you said, he can look at his music transposed and think its pretty chill.

  • EPIC

  • Frikken YEAH!! This song just gets ya hoppin! LOVE IT!!!!

  • this is what i call music

  • fuckin AWESOME

  • Love this version!!!

  • awesome

  • I love how this is exactly four minutes and twenty seconds long. :-)

  • @KradProductions ---- Is it 4:20 yet? Oh, yes, exactly when it is time to replay this song!!

  • I bet he would laugh his ass off.

  • search youtube for "snoop dogg likes gourds". snoop actually likes it.

  • who gives a crap what snoop would feel. He has spent his career stealing other peoples music anyway....

  • like what?

  • I think Snoop would find this awesome, because he loves music. Country to, he mad that song, Buy My medicine, that was kinda countryish too.

  • violin and madolin are a great combination

  • wow i wouldn't have believed it if i didn't see it

  • Fuckin Right,

  • i love bass and bud makeing this a great video lol

  • hahahahahahahaha this shit made my day !

  • This is straight OG

  • Yeah I found this song on the internet call phish and blues traveler and it sounded right so I believed it for about 5 years

  • They might have done it here, but in my opinion the original sounds like John Popper of the Blues Travelers and maybe a lil Dave Mathews in the chorus.

  • I stand corrected I guess, it does say them for the my name is earl credits

  • are they the ones who originally made this version?

i heard it was phish and all kinds of other people but this sounds pretty legit lol

  • I don't even know if Phish *has* a version?

  • phish never did it. it was this band.

  • Ween did a cover of this song, dont know if they did the "first" cover, but I like both covers better then the original.

  • ween has never played this song.

  • Im pretty sure Phish has never once played this song..

  • @whvance

The original MP3 was erroneously titled with Phish as the artist, who have never done a version of the song. Phish was not involved in the error, and they even addressed the error on their website and rightfully credit The Gourds.

  • @whvance dude they are using the words "homeboy" "G's" and "hoes"

Do you really think the country ass white people use those words??? Get it together!

  • @whvance Years ago, this song was on all of the file sharing sites labeled as Phish. Presumably, that's how that rumor got started. You can even find links over to the right here that are clearly the same song - but they say Phish. Phish hasn't done this song.

  • @whvance its just mislabeled on limewire and such. its not phish. its gourds.

  • wow!!!!

  • Do they have this recorded on an album, because I'd definitely buy it! I liked Snoop's version, but I love this one. I didn't know it could be changed into a song you sing, lol.

  • It's on the album "gogitchyershinebox".

  • O.o ?

  • i can dig it

  • LOL THEY INVENTED THE COUNTRY-RAP XD

  • well played sir.

  • Kick Ass!!!

  • love it.

  • this is plain good.

  • Better than the real one.

  • are u stupid its not better than the real 1

  • Hip Hop is a global phenomenon . It's dope to see other genres showing love. I'm so glad to be part of this generation.

  • Okay, there are too many of you people that HAVE to classify music into a certain genre, maybe its a self-justification thing where if it's in a certain category its okay to listen to....good music is good music no matter what category it's in....these days alot of music falls between the cracks of different "genre's".... so don't get lost in the nomenclature or you'll miss out on a lot of good music, jackasses!!!!

  • lol...wow. Well put!

  • Well said.

  • I'm American, I'm white, and I love almost every type of music/everything around. Live Free, Live Hard, and Live Peacefully.

  • word.

  • where is the cowbell?

  • rap and country are soo similar u can take damn near any rap song and make it country and the vice versa

  • Yeah rap and country are very similar, except for the part that country is good and rap blows a fat cock.

  • country and blues are purely American too

  • country isnt PURELY american its mostly tho yet has some roots of Celtic music. and the blues yea is purely american. and jazz came FROM the blues sorry. thats fucked up i shouldnt have mesed that up im black! lol

  • Other way around. Blues came from Jazz.

  • kinda true. it's like that chikcen and egg deal.

  • if you go in that direction, you can say that rock n roll started with Amadeus.

  • It music like this that brings us all together.....LOL

  • This song was labled Phish on Ares file sharing

  • whoever posted this under Phish must of had too much gin and juice?!?

  • man phish looks so different! just kidding...

  • whoa - snoop at the next level.....

  • way better than snoop

  • its tge aoockoypse country and rap

  • Smokin! Dang, that's HOT!!! Great Cover!

  • the banjo thang makes this song amzing

  • I believe you mean the mandolin, if your referring to the singers instrument, it's a mandolin, and yes they are awesome!

    peace n love

    -pope

  • Mandolin

  • gotta be one of the best covers ever! love the ebonics in the hillbilly voice.

  • this is some amazing skill right here.

I love all types of music, country, rap, rock, metal, EVERYTHING.

Regardless of whether you like the sound, one must admit they have some serious skill here.

I think this could be, debatably, better than the original.

  • It makes me like the original much more than I did before
