  • How many people "helped' Joe? This is youtube guy number 4 I've seen so far claiming that. I thinks they speakith too much shit. "More" button is crap. Just tell Joe to use a volume pedal FFS.

  • Is that Sammy Hagar???? jus kidding

  • Can anyone tell me what adaptor (AC or DC) am i supposed to use for the vox satchurator...On the manual it says it requires an AC adaptor, whereas on the unit near the adaptor socket it says it needs a 9v DC adaptor....Pls help....

  • It's a really great pedal and not that expensive...I got one new for $100.

  • I have it : it is the very best of vintage distorsions !

  • The guitarist was really good.

  • Hey, would this work great with a Fender Blues Jr?

I'm thinking of selling my vyper to get the Blues Jr and then get the Sacthurator or maybe the new Ice9

    Thanks

  • Hey, would this work great with a Fender Blues Jr?

I'm thinking of selling my vyper to get the Blues Jr and then get the Sacthuator or maybe the new Ice9

    Thanks.

  • play Free Bird!!!

  • He called Joe crazy because the Prof Funk CD is the best work ever???

This is a great box, you have to mess with it find the right spots, I messed with it for days and ended up right on the settings it says Joe uses. Anywho, the "pad" is for chaining the pedal on a board, it is not, not a noticable effect switch, it is NOT suppose to change the response or tone so stop bitching you can't hear it.

  • this or the ibanez tubescreamer, or are they both so good, that i can bye them both?

  • @Runelaier screw the screamer be a man and get the OCD or the coming Ice 8 from Joe's Vox line. The TS is just a diode box, simple circuit, over rated and over copied.

  • I got this pedal and I tell ya what ,If one does not have this pedal, one should get this pedal, cuz it holds many secrets, and one can unlock the many mystery's it holds,

But! it will only work in the hands one

  • @zzacksback the money is hidden in the.........

  • purra parece com cid guerreiro rsrrs

  • Does any body know how this pedal sounds on a fender deluxe?

  • This pedal is based off of his Boss DS1. It has a little more compression built into the circuit. Plug a DS1 and a CS3 into your deluxe and you'll have an idea.

  • can i get a nie heavy legato with this pedal?

  • stfu & play

  • Shut up and play it already! God!

  • Johnny needs to turn the tone to about 9 oclock. When I use this pedal, it's perfect in that position. Way to tinny at noon or above.

  • I am going to buy this pedal for my kidbro who just bought me the Jimi Hendrix fuzzface!

I will probably buy one for myself too, to see if its better than my T-Rex Møller pedal!

  • I think he use a modded ds-1 and hes use it with this...

  • I did try this pedal, it's okay but I ended up buying the Love Pedal Purple Plexi 800 pedal. For my purposes the Purple Plexi does exactly what I want.

  • I've owned this for two days now, I'm pretty impressed. It's the first time I've used clean amp settings with a distortion pedal.I definitely prefer the pedal's gain to my amps. It has great versatility, and the more button's pretty cool. The pad switch is nice too, and aptly named as it "pads" the sound. It's a great pedal that can achieve the heavy tones, as well as a tones like satch's, I love it.

  • It sounds a bit too much like Joe Satriani, need a bit more flexibility. I prefer the Love pedal purple plexi 800 pedal.

  • Does anyone know if this might sound good through a Fender hot rod deluxe amp? Is it designed to be used with just valve amps only or could I for instance us it with my Peavy Decade practise amp?

  • I use it wwith my solid state Peavey and it makes my amp sound like a tube! Get it, man!

  • I use it with my Fender Strat & Deluxe amp on the clean channel and it sounds gorgeous. I think it certainly drives the valve amps into that 'dreamy' territory.

  • if you play it through a clean amp, there wouldn't be much difference, because you play throught the settings of the pedal, and on a Fender hot rod deluxe I think it sounds great!

  • "more" power!!!!!!!

  • "smokey blues" nice terminology

  • wait. i dont get it. so johnny demarco works for roland/boss and freddy demarco works for VOX? So thats Freddy Demarco?

  • TEXTBOOK! For how NOT to shoot a video...Show THE PEDAL and various settings and SOUND rather than have somebody talk about it, with shots of THE FRETBOARD?

    BR

  • Check out my review if you want the sound, I think it's an excellent versatile pedal :-)

  • That guy Mike Bradley makes me fucking puke. The only good thing in this video is that Freddy DeMarco (not Johnny - his bro)

  • The guy at 2:36,is Johnny DeMarco brother he works for Vox.

  • Shit. I need to be a professional guitar player.

  • isn't that johnny demarco from the boss ads!?

  • nah.. you can tell because this guy doesn't make goofy faces as he plays :)

  • I really wish the battery compartment was more heavy duty instead of a piece of plastic. I just got this pedal today played it for 30 minutes, came back a couple of hours later and the lights won't even come on. I am gonna take it back to the store. Kind of pissed, and wishing I had got Vai's new pedal instead, cause it looks like it is better constructed. But there is no doubt while I had it plugged in it sounded great.

  • got this for christmas and let me tell you it is the best distortion pedal ive ever played through i just love it so much THANK YOU JOE YOUR A BIG INSPIRATION TO ME !! ROCK ON

  • same here i got 1 too its amazing

  • The guy at 2:36,Johnny DeMarco clone lol

  • he doesnt set it like that...the tone is a little bit more towards 12 o'clock and the level is at about 1 oclock

  • Sounds like a pretty sweet pedal, I think I may just have to pick one up.

  • Mine came last week, best distortion ive ever heard, i strongly suggest it.

  • It sure sounds like gold on this demo for sure. I am about to purchase one as soon as my nearest retailed store gets one in. What I am amazed with is the MORE switch. How do you like that feature as well as the overall response. Im kind of curious. Im always fascinated by what other fellow shredders have to say about this sorta stuff. Lemme know if you want. Cheers.

  • Who cares the fuck u all talking about major minor or the fucking modes. All I care is it's a cool JOE's Satchurator peddle and it's an awesome Classic sound Dist Box.

  • It's spelled Pedal Einstein & you really need to calm down - I think it's time for your Medicine

  • I'm baked

  • Sorry GearWire, But the Cameraman is too bad next time take anyone with a little idea.

  • please explain. Our two shooters have been doing this for a long time, and would appreciate specifics.

  • i think it was cool until he started filming the guy with the guitar. I think guitarists (as myself) want to see both hands of a player. This was too zoomed in so sometimes you would be like: did he just roll down the volume? or was that him stomping the pedal? i think that if he had just filmed the guy with a full body shot, filming how he uses both his hands, and also maybe get the pedal in the picture, that would have been great. Just my 2 cents. None the less, it's a cool vid!

  • hey, that's good to know. I was trained in cinematography, so I tend to want to go for a clean closeup. I'm not a guitarist, so I am not sure what you guys are looking for in shooting a guitarist. Thank you for the feedback. I will definitely be keeping this in mind at Fall AES.

    -Bill

  • @gearwire umm I think he means the camera guy was going crazy filming everything, i.e. watching the hand go to the volume knob, then back to the neck of the guitar, then randomly down to the guy's feet. (all of which I didnt notice until this guy mentioned something about the camera guy)

  • I though it was fine...

  • that vox guitar is sweet

  • "So I think Joe Satriani has gone a bit insane -- his new album, Professor Satchafunkilus And The Musterion Of Rock cannot be the work of a man in his right mind."

Please explain what do you mean!

  • toca con calidad!

  • the guy playing guitar is like the bizarro Johnny DeMarco

  • Is it johnny?

    Thought he worked for Boss.

    Vox now?

  • This really sounds like him

  • considering vox makes guitars, i dont think they would use an ibanez duh!

  • this guy should be playing one of joes guitars as its his fans that will mainly be buying this

  • Sounded the same all the way through just louder.

  • I need this because I can't get any good sounds out of Gearbox.

  • I would suggest using the Tube Screamer Pedel on gearbox if you want an awesome lead.

  • Yeah I've used that a lot... the other pedals on Gearbox are too much... I'm getting an Xotic BB preamp first.

  • Picked up my Satchurator today! and it rips boys and girls. Sound is very Satchy if you use the settings in video here, an awesome crisp punch. Worth every penny! back to it now.... dont hate me ;)

  • hi, where did you buy it from. Every time i contact dawsons they say it isn't out yet. thanks

  • notice the laptop in the back ground..amp and cab mods.....cant really tell if its the pedal or what amp/cab mod they are running it through....ill wait

  • holy crap!!! this is the best sounding distortion pedal ive ever heard!!! lol I NEED TO GET ONE!!! =P

  • Jeez look at all the idiots on youtube spamming their keywords with "satchurator" when they don't have one. Anyone interested in the real satchurator should go to those faggots vids and rate them 1 star...

  • Listen, I'm done arguing, I almost forgot what the point of this argument was before Geckoshred came here and called me a 'baby dink', first time I have heard that insult before. Anyways, goodbye my fellow comrades! I hope we really (don't) meet again!

  • "the interwebz"....LO Fucking L!!!! Now we have solid proof were dealing with a seriously uneducated pre-teen poser! HAHAHA

  • TrainWreck, sorry we got your panties all up in a bunch, spaz!...LOL If you and your bum buddies need to rely on internet tabs (which obviously are not always accurate or reliable), then you guys are NOOBS and you have no place to be a condescending prick about a subject you obviously know nothing about....There's plenty of 3rds in that song, baby dink. Do your research so you don't jam your foot in your mouth quite so far next time.;)

  • Pwned again, poor Travis LOL. If he can't hear the 3rds in the chorus of Cherub Rock he needs new ears and shouldn't be lecturing anyone about intervals. I have an old Guitar World Dec '93 with that tabbed, the verse chords are D, A, C, G, all voiced as root - maj 3rd - 5th and sometimes root on top again.

  • I mean chorus chords..."the who is righteous what is bold" bit anyway

  • I said I didn't listen to that song... ever.... and my FIRST comment was not talking to you, you may want to use that genius brain of yours for something... besides music.

And it's pretty hard to find free notation of rock songs on the interwebz, the only thing that bothers me is the maj 3rd, that is my personal preference not to include it, or even the fifth if it doesn't sound good with the melody or complete song.

  • If you were referring to a previous comment you should say so, we can't all hear the voices in your head. Didn't occur to you to maybe look that song up on youtube ? Definitely not the sharpest tool in the shed.

  • Apparently you need me to walk you through everything, that's ok since you are '72'. I did look it up, but not before I made that comment, I just scanned a tab on the internet quickly. You can read that comment again and see: "mostly powerchords".

And on a side note, if you don't hate me for whatever reason, would you mind explaining "he plays it over the flat 7th, making a flat fifth ?" You were kind of unspecific and I would like to learn what played over a flat seventh makes it a flat fifth.

  • Ok, if the root is A ( implied by the A octave at the start ), when he plays

    E---

    B---

    G--6

    D--5

    A---

    E---

The G note (5 fret D string) string is the flat 7th of an A chord, and the C# ( 6th fret G string) is the maj third of an A chord. But taken on their own, the interval between G and C# is a flat fifth.

LOL at the "72 years old". You think I really live in "Antigua and Barbuda" too ?

  • Hey, they're are some weird ass people on Youtube. That's why I put the ' ' around it. But thanks for the info, I'll keep that in my mind.

Geckoshred, or maybe if I was as immature as you, Goat-dick sucker, sorry to get your thong in a wad, but how am I uneducated? "LOL HAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHA ROFLMAO I AM SO SMARTS!!!1!"

  • Hey TravuhsWree, you are not the sharpest tool in the shed, obviously...There's lots of tunes that have chords using the 3rd with plenty of distortion...Listen to Cherub Rock by the Smashing Pumpkins, for example. GOBS of distortion in that song...*sigh* morons...

  • Hah hah Geckoshred, I'M not smart?

Now I Never really listened to SP but my friends do and I looked at a tab for it and I didn't see too many thirds on it. Mostly power chords, not even with the fifth according to a tab I read, just two notes in adjacent octaves, I don't know what you're talking about, do yo homework sonny and maybe one day you will be as great as PutItAway, or maybe even me. (Sarcasm)

  • Nice video !

  • He's got a Satchurator, which he can play what the fuck he likes

  • YOU obviously don't even know what I'm talking about.

  • Yeah I do actually. The even tempered major third is sharper than the ideal pitch so the frequency ratio produces intermodulation distortion instead of locking into a simple phase ratio like a fifth or fourth. I often flatten my B string slightly so I can play A string major bar chords without the intermodulation. So STFU n00b

  • What...? A-based barRE chords...? Why do you want to...? The point of power chords is so that you don't NEED to have a 3rd, making the power chord more non-directional than a major or minor, but I see the reasoning in lowering your B-string, I'd prefer to keep things in standard tuning perfectly....

  • You prefer the FRENCH spelling ? Your call...

No one was talking about power chords, you were complaining about this guy playing a maj 3rd. Try to pay attention.

  • Refreshing to hear someone who knows what they're talking about. Ever taken a theory class, or just felt like learning that?

  • BAAAAAAM!!!!!!!

I be adding you to my friends. You know your shit.

  • Hah thanks. I've got a crazy theory...maybe the vid dude doesn't give a shit what Travis thinks about the tonal ambiguity of power chords. Maybe he played a maj 3rd becuase he WANTED IT TO SOUND MAJOR. Maybe he knows the frequency ratio's not ideal for playing with distortion but thought "fuck it, close enough for rock and roll. I'm only playing for a fraction of a second anyway, so any smartass that doesn't like it can gargle my balls while I take a shit."

  • And PutItAway, you do know your shit, congrats, but I wasn't even talking to you. YEAH, I DO LIKE THE 'FRENCH' SPELLING, BECAUSE NO ONE CALLS IT 'bar chord'. No one that I know of for that matter. And power chords are completely relative to the major (or minor) 3rd. POWERCHORDS= NO 3rd = BETTER SOUNDING WITH LOTS 'O DISTORTION (aka Satchurator.) I was simply stating the obvious for the sub par in our country. *Cough Geckoshed* Try to pay attention.

  • Okaaayy...you weren't talking to me when you were replying to my comment ? Logical in your mind maybe. Google "Barre chord" = 40,700 hits, "Bar chord" = 46,100. I'm sorry but you are not a winner. Thank your for playing, please try again. Also if you don't like Maj 3rds with distortion you better tell Iommi to stop playing the intro to War Pigs. Anyway is it actually the root + maj 3rd diads bothering you or is it when he plays it over the flat 7th, making a flat fifth ?

  • I say bar chord.

  • Sounds like shite. Vox's last line sounded much better. At least they have a guitar legend to help them sell 'em.

  • Did he say available in August?

Oh man, when I ordered it, they told me it'll be released in June, than I heard it's gonna be July and now August??

  • That guitar just screams metal...eh? Wonder why a company with the visibility of Vox would make a distortion pedal and not hire a shred head to demo it?

Oh well. Nice sounding pedal though.

  • Maybe that's the point, you can plug in some crazy red hillbilly guitar and it comes out metal LOL

  • Heheheh. Good point. "Crazy Red Hillbilly Guitar." Gave me a good laugh this AM. Thanks.

  • That's actually the Vox guitar.Hahahahaha.

  • Last to get a life ?

  • ha.

    on topic, this pedal rocks.

  • who the fuck cares????..... No one
