  • Does this amp get really hot? I have a 1962 Tube Amp I bought off eBay and the thing gets damn hot! You'd burn yourself if you'd happend to touch any of the tubes, transformers, or capaciters.

  • What is the title of the song??

  • sounds great may ı alsos askk the schematic and whre did u get the components please

  • awesome work sir. I wish i studied more. financial is my issue when I was studying. work hard to get what I want though. but still it put a hole in my pocket, but graduated and found a job of what I studied. I feel so sad cu'z I went to north america. (not my fault though).

  • Wonderfull italian song!!!

    YAESU HAM RADIO!!!

  • Comment removed

  • whats the song? XD

  • can i buy it for real?

  • can i buy it for real?

  • What did you use for your power supply? What capacitance did you use for your filtering?

  • haha nice

  • tube output that sony and you will be in heaven

  • @liquidsord23

Thanks ! But sound may depends on what the combination of those rigs ! I supposed tube amplifier sound will be great when under the same price not more than 1.5k us!

  • The music what a coincidence, it was played at my inlaws funeral.

  • @rudolfje52

I'm sorry!! But as all my stuffs (tube amp.) was gone ! you may watch my other video !

  • May I get the schematic? It sounds and looks fantastic!

  • @fingerboy18

    Just PM me ! Thanks

  • @scericli

    give me schematic please

  • Cool device, shitty music.

  • @Darwinpasta

    Thanks for watching!

  • @efertheredfish

(uploader) The Prayer by Rusell Watson

  • WOW your setup feels the music, it dont play it note by note!!

Is it posible to get the diagrams?

  • @look2ugly

please sent a email to me and I will post it for you

  • Analog (vinil) ! No CD (digital)!

  • that's so awesome.....i would try to make one but i'd probably electrocute myself or set a fire...

  • fascinating!

  • Nice to see another builder at it. When I get dough I'll try the Plitron stuff...I hear good things about them.

  • Hi Thanks for your watching and comments,I like to try different stuffs for build audio gears like Plitron toroid O/P transformer !

  • BRAVO AWESOME

  • Thanks

  • I wish i knew how to do that and set it all up. Sounds great, is there any good info on how to get started with it?

  • Hi Just see my other videos Like "DIY My Little Stereo Tube Amp. ECLL800" "Rebuild KT88 Power Amp." etc.

    Thanks for watching

  • name of song?

  • The Prayer by Rusell Watson

  • great quality..FANTASTIC

  • Thanks for watching

  • wow that sounds pretty good. i always wanted a tube amp, closest thing i have is a tube guitar amp

  • Hi if you change the couple capacitor to a little high value then your guitar amp. also be a standard amp.

  • wow resistors out side of case 400V not good.

  • not the resistor ,only the large 5u output capacitor and the dc voltage is quite low in case no room inside ! thanks

  • Got ya

  • nice one but a lil bit dangerous to put the elkos outside where they can be touched? 0:31

im not sure how much power you put into your anodes but i guess you are using ECC83 at 400 volt? however...nice design and congrats to your project :-)

  • Hi rockangel1967, cathode ouput volts not so high ,i used ECC88 for output stage, Thanks for watching

  • this kind of amp's can handle super bass or not?

  • Yep, those famous warm harmonics are in yours.

  • I build guitar amps. I love the RCAs! I want to do this kind of build some day. Keep up the good work. Andrea Bocelli has the voice of God.

  • Analog has always had the best quality audio. Same for the synths like the cs-80.

  • if i had a choice of amps to pick i'll pick a Valve amp anyday clean sound .

  • @jfraser3 amen, those soviet tubes

  • How much did the amp cost you to build? how much time did you invest? do you have a schematic?

  • Well I have changed a few schematic on a same case even the pre amp. and cost me a some thousand of dollars I owned this tube gears over ten years so you may see those schematic on the site photobuncket and search my same ID there!

    Thanks!

  • transistor = $2 each for most amps. even in maplins or tandy or cpc magazine

    valve =$20 upwards to $350 each for a kt88 or a tt21.

  • Transistors not only the cost you mention but needs matching each other by special equipment it not cheap by man power also difficult to matching FET to become 5%or less!!

  • Electro-harmonic kt-88's are 100 bucks on ebay for a matched quad.

  • NO WAY does a treansistor amp sound better than valve. i'm sorry to say you are mislead. you cannot beat linear sound. just gat a crystal microphone under a guitar string and listen to a fly drop on the string. no transistor would pick that up.. valves are so sensitive. frequencies from 5hz to 50 khz are never accomplished like that with transient transistors, have you ever wondered 8 out of ten people swear valve is better than transistors by their ears no bass no mid or treble on my amp .

  • I'm not totally agree transistor amp no good at all now I'm just saying the technology about the CAST amplifier there are not using voltage gain inside the schematic not a ordinary amplifier.you may watch some review about this kind of transistor gear like Krell used but plenty of audiophile can't afford about the Krell evolution combo gear! ........

  • and now I could found those similar gear but far away about million dollar price from Krell Evolution version gear ! Here is the review from audio circle that about what Tyson say in the forum.......

  • That pretty much sums up what the sound of this equipment is †as close to “nothing” as possible. That does not mean it is dull or boring in any way. What it means is that I hear more of the actual flavors and colors of the recordings themselves. Whether that's the studio trickery of a Nine Inch Nails album, the minimalist, angry young woman with a guitar vibe of Ani DiFranco, the large scale and drive of a Beethoven Symphony,

  • the soulful wailing of Billie Holiday, or the dynamic, complex music of Queen or Dave Matthews Band, it all comes through as direct, unique, and separate musical events, each in it's own universe, laid bare for you to fully appreciate. A very rare thing indeed.

    I

  • In the end, what does it sound like? It sounds like your source. And if your source is on the same level of quality, then it sounds like whatever the recording sounds like.

OK, so what does it not do?

It's not tubed gear. It won't give you the sound of tubes, which means you won't get that magic that only tubes can impart. If you want “bloom” in your mids, liquidity in your highs, and warm fuzzies in your bass, then look elsewhere.

  • Tube gear certainly has magic, but they also impose that flavor on every recording you play. I like tubes. I just don't want them for everything. Which is why I'm contemplating getting a tube dac at some point, so I can flip between a tube source and an SS source at the touch of a button. Many people get tube gear to combat the seemingly inherent nasties that are part of digital sources,

  • especially when mated with SS preamps and amps. I was one of those people. But I now think that the best SS gear can also be non-fatiguing and enjoyable to listen to for hours on end.

Put another way, great tube gear can transport the musicians directly into your listening room, with a palpability that is unmatched. But, great SS gear can transport you to the recording venue, giving you a window into that precise universe, and simply putting less between you and the musical event.

  • Conclusion

Clearly I love the sound and capabilities of the audio-gd equipment. It was a bit nerve wracking at first, and was not without issues, but once everything was addressed, the reward was truly world class music reproduction. Effortless, powerful, clear, vibrant, it's all here. Even factoring the cost of air-shipping these very heavy boxes, the price they charge is still far too little.

  • I think you will find by experiment that tubes do not "have a sound" it is the design that matters. I have found solid state properly designed and executed right can sound liquid and subtle and tube equipment badly designed can sound hard and sterile.

  • Okay, it's great and all that valve amps can obtain 5hz-50khz... But you'll have a hard time finding some decent speakers with that kind of frequency range!

A £1800 pair of Canton Chrono floorstanders only go down to 20hz!

  • @Darbyjack yea but you don't really hear frequencies that high, and frequencies that low are inaudible and kill the speakers.. which is probably why they don't make any speakers capable of that range

  • i love valve amps. i have two. linear sound all the way. no digital zero's and ones for me. vinyl and valve. forever.

  • I have those experienced same like yours since on 90's but now I love sound as neutral as it match the signal source ! you may found that what a overall soundstage you really want. I surely this must need a long time to go!

  • I was DIY since 1964 until now there are two different way in transistor and tube amplifiers but from the new technology appeared like Krell used

The sound quality and sound stage is huge improved than traditional transistor amp.

This is what a hiend gear was!!

certainly I got a similar gear like this now I'm very enjoy the sound performance from audio-gd!!

  • also I still got a tube amp. also posted here "ECLL800"

I'm not push people to listen transistor but for the total performance result I still like transistor amp.

  • Awesome amp, I'll bet it sounds amazing!

  • Johnny Thanks

But please see my last reply, this tube amplifier system was sold already now instead a combo transistor gear from audio-gd sound is much improved than tube amp.

  • With all due respect, transistor and ic based amps can never give u what a tube amp can give! Also hybrids can be worse than both!

  • still cant believe you trade it, the best homemade tube i've seen so far, hope you like the change. How much wattage did you recieved with the amplifier?

  • Sorry to make somebody dizzy ,now I owned a new technology gear CAST ! What does it sound like? It sounds like your source. And if your source is on the same level of quality, then it sounds like whatever the recording sounds like.

  • Also power handling is 250W 8 ohm, 500W 4 ohm, 1000W 2 ohm. may see the site audio-gd English customers feedbacks ..........Tyson's review. Thanks

  • Comment removed

  • you traded in all your valve gear for SILICON traitor !!!!!

  • Yes brother. I was sold all the gear and purchased from audio-gd . now I got a set of transistor amp.use the new technology called Current Audio Signal Transmission (CAST) sound is huge improved most close the signal source !!

  • have to be honest never heard of CAST before but smells like marketing snake oil to me accompanied by much expensive equipment and expensive cable, my philosophy in audio as with life keep it simple...get yer valves back mate

  • that was a foolish decision. Those guys will make a fortune out of your valve amp :(

  • Dude. Get a better cd player!

  • Well all the gear your watching was change to transistor amp. also the transport and DAC now those gears just for memory !!

  • Was it hard to build? I'm gonna try and do electronics at school as soon as I can, and I want to build my own full valve stereo, just something basic I can run my computer into.

  • You really dont any electronics school really. I think you should be fine if you learn how to read a schematic. Then just buy your parts and follow the schematic.

    Very simple.

Dont be an audioPHOOL btw its not common for idiots with more money than brains to buy stupidly expensive parts Ever heard of 800 dollar knobs, speakers with tubes for dust covers were the tubes arent even connected to anything? How about Cryogenically frozen tubes to purify them? People buy it! Dont get fooled!

  • Sorry for my poor English! I really don't know what's your main point Thanks

  • Good work :D nice sound

  • ,,It will keep you warm in the winter I want to be there when you buy more matched tubes but nice sound,,

  • I need you`r help pls if u have a schematic to build a small amp whit one ecc83 for preamp and one ore two el34 i have the power and output transformers that once made a guitar amp whit this tubes but it ore made whit 5 ecc83 and two el34 but one of the el34 tube i think is burn out i don't know for sure and that is why i like whit one el34 if is possible

  • Good Work respect for tube amps great sound bravo :)

  • bravo

  • i ahve a singlequestion man amd please respond me .

how much is the power consume of the amplifier

  • If only the power amp. is around 120W

  • Pristine job! Beautiful!

  • Thanks

  • Nice work!

  • As we always say, "If it ain't glowing, it ain't real."

  • its covered because it would be annoying...

  • Can u please email me some info on how to do this man i would love to learn to build an audio system thats worthy of my music collection. Please email me! Beautiful work by the way!!

  • There is nothing finer than a ALL TUBE based audio amplifier. The sound is truer, cleaner and more warm. It's a shame everything has moved to MOSFET.

  • Does that include the rectifiers?

  • Warm, yes. Truer, no. Don't confuse pleasant artifact with more accurate reproduction.

  • Sounds good mate

  • LOL. I pray youll be alll aiiiight!!!!

  • nice.kt-88's with the the plitron outputs.Good high frequency extension.

  • good very good vacuum tube amplifies is the best , transistor amplifiers is the rest...

  • Marvelous! I wonder how much it must have cost you...?

  • cool system, i love my linn setup but i cant say i built it myself. i would love to play with valves but so would my young daughter unfotunately

  • Thanks but what unfortunately about your daughter!!??

  • im sure she doesnt have cancer or anything i think he meant that since she is young she would break it. Dont fret! :)

  • yes my daughter is in perfect health thanks. what I meant is I have used tubes before but those glowing glass bottles are just too tempting for a three year old so i use linn gear which is solid state (sounds absolutely superb though). there is something about valves though

  • well done is all i can say, the satisfaction you must have is too good for words. Nice range of componenets as i see a sony in there similar to mine. Have to agree with others the song is lil on the dodgy side but does help to show the vocal capabilities of your equipment. Anyways keep it up. Cheers!

  • Thanks a lot

  • It's very nice tone of "YAESU"!!

  • HAM alos like Hi Fi

  • Try Enya music

  • Nice amp, wasted on the celine dion stuff. Oh, the irony.

Try an EL84 amp with some lightnin' hopkins... much more soul.

  • The femal vocal is Lu Lu ,I have another compose amp. ECLL800 is similar the EL84 ,difference sound but only 8W/ch.

  • Nice Sound!!

  • I imagine it sounds awesome. But trying to demonstrate hifi audio on youtube is like trying to show a masterpiece painting through a fax machine.

  • Do I see a few exposed high voltage component leads on that one unit ??!!

  • did you honestly shield the power transformer with copper foil, a completely magnetically transparent material?

  • Jup, It functions as a shorted winding, and effectively reduces stray field, open up any audio amp and you wil find a copper foil around the windings and transformer core.

  • If the copper foil with grounding is great difference right correct me if I'm wrong

    Thanks you ogorir !

  • Sound is amazing :D

    Good luck :)

  • listen "the prayer" made from andrea bocelli and celine dion

  • It is very unfortunate but some of these guys are right about the music. You need to put on Charlotte Church and Josh Groban's version of this song. Nice "valves"

  • Sadly, tubes will make you fall in love with any kind of female vocals that are well recorded, regardless of writing or composition.

  • Lately I've been thinking about building a tube amplifier "head" for my 4X12 speaker cabinet. Do you have any suggestions/ideas/schematics/etc. that you could send my way?

    R

  • You listen music like this ?

    i want my 2 min. back !

  • wow that sound really good that hard to get

  • "Rap" LMAO

  • too bad we have no idea how good it actually sounds since its passed through half a dozen bottlenecks before reaching our ears.

  • all that tube gear and you listen to shite music !!!!

  • If having audio gear like this makes you listen to music like this then I'll pass. What the hell id this music. It makes me want to slit my wrists. Seriously, I appreciate the type of sound quality you get from valve gear but I didnt think it made you into a knob.

  • what is the deal with tube amps? can u tell a bit more about them? what are the advantages/backdraws? I've seen som really cheap ones on ebay, why are they so cheap? How do u determine quality? what are good brands for tube amps? what should I llok for? I love the lloks of these amps! got to get me one :D

  • For the DIYer is hard to install the transistor amp so they will go to the easy way for making a tube amp. specially to the pre.amp. so I will tell you to buy the transistor coalescent amp. is more stable more powerful perhaps i introduce a good site for you ........audio-gd they sell the best products and those equipment are cheap really nice sound (you just add dot com at the end)

  • What did you do to that Counterpoint preamp? At least that's what it used to be until you modded it.

  • However, it is unfortunate that transistor amplifiers do not sound as good as those utilizing valves, (tubes). I appreciate that solid-state amplifiers provide better measurements ... but they sound poor when compared with a valve amplifier.

Yes, valve amplifiers often are easier to design than those using transistors ... valve amplifiers are usually simpler, which may explain why they are so much better.

  • it sounded like coming from a metal can.

  • The sound is from the two speakers record by a minolta camera model Dimage XT

  • What tube line up in amp and preamp? Sounds very good.

  • WOW! I'm speechless. That's all I can say... wow!

  • that POWER AMP IS SWEET dude .. haha .. wanna build me one ? haha

  • Beautifull song, amazing sound and incredible equipment. Is this circut your own design? and what are the spesc's if any. also what speakers are used. I can tell through my headphones the sound is so pure and natural. Awsome!!

  • Thanks! My speaker is Monitor Audio

  • Wow! What is your whole setup? How would I go about learning how to make a tube amp?

    Thanks!

  • I will upload the other video of the tube amp. installation may come soon (it's under construction)

  • sound is amazing!

  • lol ! did u mean it ?

  • Lemme see. May I have it? lol
