also i just wanted to tell you that when you want an updated DotA you should play Heroes of Newerth. while it doesnt have any story mode or something like this it has gameplay nearly same as DotA plus some tweaks that makes it better. Also it has alot of heroes and is currently in Beta. shouldnt be hard to grab a key and open Beta starts soon.

It looks pretty much manga-ish...

and it's one of the most popular games...

and it started from warcraft 3...

now... alaplaya... the owners of Avalon Heroes EU re-made the "Dota" edition of warcraft (that i don't know what does it mean) and made a proper game... i see nothing wrong with new games... and it's in beta... so expect more from it...

Since Warcarft 3 dota had a limited game maps and heroes...

the korean Avalon has nearly reached 100 playable heroes... and plenty of maps :)

as well as scenario (story mode) and a kind of doungeon or raid mode :)
