Ok, don't jump all over me here. I understand what made Bill an innovator. His experements with kit design, sound structure, mixing electric and acoustic and more. What I don't get is how this particular vid is impressive. Just a bunch of 16th and 32nd notes and a few trills over the surface of the drum heads. Any half way proficient drummer could do this. Sorry just my opinion
@marty3699 I understand your opinion, but you must understand that Bruford has been an innovator. Up to 50 years, there was only an experimental jazz as a musical genre, in 60 years has begun to form a new definition of progressive music with the genre (of which he was part Bruford). Bruford, then, like many other Italian and international drummers of that era, had "carte blanche" in composing, experimenting on percussion. So for the time was an innovative genius ... Today there is all Sold..
