Read the book of Acts there are plenty of women named by Paul who were Apostles Don't just read it to disagree but read then study, study the names of some of the people Paul spoke of who were workers in the first century church. Then look up those people in the various commentaries and research books, then draw on the Holy Spirit to help you to disguard religious thinking, and put on the mind of Christ. If God used Deborah to be a Judge surely he will use a woman to preach or oversee.

webmustang - you have made a common mistake in scripture, Paul stated I do not permit a woman to teach, meaning that this was a personal rule of the Apostle. If you study Paul he always made a difference between the command of the Lord, and what he command (as the Apostles have the right to do. Paul was councelling the Christian congregation as to what to do and not to do sothat there is a unity in worship in ALL the churches. So that, in a orderly way, in all churches the worship was the same. One being Priscilla who assisted Paul in his meeting and even taught Apollos more perfectly (thats word), then you have Deborah, Miriam and others! Look it up. Its all word. I would love to find the tape called "Mighty Works" by Iona Locke. It was preached in Ohio at a convention back in the day. It ends with with Iona crying out, 'Whoaaaaa!!!!'...The crowd went into an uproar and utter pandemonium. I saw hats, glasses, and shoes flying off Holy Ghost filled souls in all directions...what a dynamic sermon.

Yes, she is one of the greatest. I remember her in the 80's. Never heard anything like it! She was/is so amazingly on fire. What makes her so great is that she really paints the story before she gets in "HIGH GEAR" you think you're there in biblical days when she's teaching/preaching!

Because the bible, in the latter part of Rom 4:15, also says that:
For where no law is, [there is] no transgression.
If there is no law considering the issue of women preaching or taking an office of bishop, then there is no transgression.
So the question then becomes, where is the law regarding such issues?

"Daughters shall prophesy" A leadership role in church over men. Rom 16:1 Paul recommend Phebe our sister a servant of the church. In the greek servant is translated minister and deacon. Rom 16: 27 again as a deacon in translation. I don't limit God, he can use whom he will. There are no gender roles in kingdom business.

webmustang - you have made a common mistake in scripture, Paul stated I do not permit a woman to teach, meaning that this was a personal rule of the Apostle. If you study Paul he always made a difference between the command of the Lord, and what he command (as the Apostles have the right to do. I would suggest more time in prayer, and seek the face of the Lord for wisdom. Also check out the first two chapters of acts where Peter quotes Joel. Prophesy there means to proclaim or preach. holla

Paul was councelling the Christian congregation as to what to do and not to do sothat there is a unity in worship in ALL the churches. So that, in a orderly way, in all churches the worship was the same. Please, back up your statement with scriptures when you say: "Paul always made a difference between the command of the Lord, and what he command" give examples.
As to Joel and Acts, the women, indeed, were to PREACH to outsiders (Gentiles), but NOT TEACH insiders (Christians). Big difference.

That's true I agree with you on this Scripture I Timothy 2:11-14. Yep! Let the women learn in silence, but LET THEM PREACH OUT LOUD. I believe anyone could preach the gospel. You don't have to be a pastor, bishop, evangelist, or teacher to PREACH. Or God desires is a willing servant.

The women were to preach and teach "gentiles", people "out from the nations", "non believers in the Christ" (Acts 2:1-21) NOT teach or preach inside the Christian congregation or church. (1 Timothy 2:11-14)
They should reach out to "outsiders" NOT towards or to the "insiders"

I urge anyone who has an issue with women "preachers" to look up this women in the bible...Deborah, Anna, Phoebe, Esther-especially esther, b/c if God used her to stand in the gap for a nation then what's the difference between a woman preaching/teaching/prohecying to souls admonishing them to stay in Christ and/or come to Christ...people don't debate the word. And for those who use paul in Corinthians tellin the women that they are to be sat down..they were unruly that is why!!

Paul was speaking in the context of the cities where he preached. Pray and read and eat the Word and see what Jesus said. The angel at the open tomb said to the Women, " Go and tell.." The Holy Bible also says that in the last days the Spirit will be poured upon all flesh.

Like i already stated, there are many mentionings of women who preached as well as prophesied in scripture. One being Priscilla who assisted Paul in his meeting and even taught Apollos more perfectly (thats word), then you have Deborah, Miriam and others! Look it up. Its all word. I don't know where people get this foolishness from. And besides that, yuo CANNOT deny the anointing. It speakes for itself! : ) Thats totally taking the word out of context.

But there is a woman that stood in the office of the prophet have you forgoten about debora? read judges 4:4 a mighty woman of God. galatians 3:28 refers to the fact that there is no race, gender, class distinction as to whom can be "saved".
All based on faith backed up by actions (James 2:17, 2:26)

You have a misunderstanding of what preaching is and what prophecy is.preaching is simply proclaiming the word of God.there are some that get up and preach and never give the word of God I call that sermonizing. I would rather listen to a woman give the word of God under the anointing than listen to a man sermonize his own ideas that have nothing to do with God. then you misunderstand the prophecy of joel. I think you may be speaking of women in leadership as it relates to pastors. but prophecy in the new testament is simply declaring the written word due to the fact that the canon is closed. i have biblical issue with women "pastoring", but not preaching, scripture supports them in the prophecy of joel and its fulfillment on the day of pentecost during peter's sermon.

Many will never harken to words of truth; however, because it has been spoken (written), it will be a testament against them in judgment. Everyone will be judged for every word spoken and heard by them.
Most just gloss over such important words as MK 16:15 and AC 2:38 and will spend much time and energy investigating religious concepts to impress others such as angelology, eschatology, soteriology, predestination and replacement theology, while needing the very Holy Ghost discussed.

The tetragrammaton יהוה means Adonai or Lord;yet again, clearly not the name given in Exodus. The word YAHWEH means the god(yah) of mischief. and was put into the translation of the Bible by the Nazarenes in an attempt to hide the name from us

Clearly, you have read more into the passage of scripture than what is written. The terms I AM THAT I AM are God's expression of His essence versus the name He is called.
Moses said, they shall say to me, what is his name? God respond to Moses saying, Thus shall thou say ... I AM hath sent me unto you. Note God did not say, tell them My name is I AM, neither I AM is His name. His response was not the logial answer. The phrase is neither a proper name nor alias of God.

I would love to find the tape called "Mighty Works" by Iona Locke. It was preached in Ohio at a convention back in the day. It ends with with Iona crying out, 'Whoaaaaa!!!!'...The crowd went into an uproar and utter pandemonium. I saw hats, glasses, and shoes flying off Holy Ghost filled souls in all directions...what a dynamic sermon.

Yes. I have the cassette. I was teenager when I heard it, and it convicted my spirit so intensely that I went and through away all of my pictures, posters, and videos of people I idolized. "The People of God Have Corrupted Themselves." When she began prophesying with God talking through her in 1st person would stop anybody in their tracks.
