Guns in the hands of private citizens change a robbery into a gun fight. Or a massacre (like the one at Luby's cafeteria) into a battle. Or a holocaust into a civil war. In each case, the former alternative is more convenient for government than the latter. It is much easier for the police to show up and load victims' bodies into the medical examiner's van than to take control of good guys shooting bad guys. Of course, a holocaust is much easier if the victims are unarmed.

Guns are neather good or bad, their just a tool. However People can be good or bad, and if we ban guns thenonly criminals will have them, and we would become a police state where "We the people" will become "Us the servents" to a currupt government.

Hi alexwiese, like DanceRooster said guns are not bad. Just some bad people use guns, and some good people use them as well. Guns also saves lives, and deters criminals from doing unlawful acts. No matter what if guns were banned from law binding citizens only the police & criminals would have guns, and innocent people would not be able to protect them selves. Take care.
