Well, no. All we've found out is that there's a bit less "junk" than originally thought. Extrapolating new data to an extreme is wholly dishonest.
We've observed time and time again the generation of novel functions, and the MO of a biological system is consistently MacGyver-like...add a "part," make it work. This is the concept of biological robustness.
Nothing is wrong about junk DNA, big part of DNA is absolute junk. That some junk parts have been found to have some function doesn't mean everything isn't junk. If you can cut something out and nothing happens then its junk.

Evolution works in present time, it doesn't make stuff ready for future use, and even if some useless junk DNA in the future gains some function due to mutations it doesn't change the fact that it is junk now. Evolution does not have goals.

That depends entirely on what you define as "dirt." Most dirt is not organic. A two-year-old could tell you that dirt is not exactly the same everywhere. There are different proportions of soil, sand, and clay, plus impurities.
One could say that we're made out of 13 abundant Earth elements, to which I would reply "NO SHIT." Why would the first organisms (or RNA) form out of elements that were not present on Earth? However, the "primordial soup" was not anything like dirt.

My point was that assumptions should not be made about a certain solutions lack of function since we cannot tell if at any and all times that solution is lacking function, otherwise we place ourselves in a much too high seat of power in which we dont belong.

Well, no. All we've found out is that there's a bit less "junk" than originally thought. Extrapolating new data to an extreme is wholly dishonest.
We've observed time and time again the generation of novel functions, and the MO of a biological system is consistently MacGyver-like...add a "part," make it work. This is the concept of biological robustness.

@Hobu123 we don't know if those pieces do something in the future. there has been many times in science when all it took was more time to figure out that desired or undesired results did occur after quite a long waiting period. we just don't know, and with that ill-knowledge, and the fact that they found some of the junk to be non junk, i feel like they'll find that less of it is junk in the future. if i'm wrong, then i'm not right :)
