  • love the sound i am looking to upgrade to this amp when i get the cash how does it behave when you use pedals with it

  • Hi. Can you do an H&K amp review please? :)

  • hey dude nice playing man... your sounds is amazing man... i agree better timing now. I own the boss gt-10 man too. i was wonder what tube amp did you use for this sound?? did you use any preamp? im new with this staff of gt-10. i have been using the boss to pa system in church but the sound is quite annoying to bright etc what amp will your recommend me?

  • @ephiphone35 I used a Hughes & Kettner Switchblade 50 here. I recommend a tube amp with an effect-loop and you can choose wether the GT-10 pre-amp is used or your amp's. I wish you luck with the acoustics and sound characteristics of a church though, must be hard but I guess the warmth of a tube-amp will help a lot.

  • @Hv358 well actually i have a fender telecaster j5 and i dont know man like you said its hard but i'll try to do my best for the Lord and thank you man for your response... i'll have in mind your advise... thanks and May God bless you

  • @Hv358 thank you man for you response... yeah man but one question what will you recommend me for input signal of a telecaster? mine sounds way to bright and i was wonder if you could help me out or something... i tried the eq and doesnt help a lot. Should i decrease the level or increase the presence? Global settings man help me out im frustaded it

  • @ephiphone35 I guess you might want to limit the output power to 12 o'clock. Also cut back the treble on the Tele, maybe change some pickup(s). But maybe the best you could do is to lend or try another guitar, to find out wether that makes a (huge) difference or not. If the base (Tele) doesn 't work for you then the GT-10 will not change that a lot. The bright & bite are very characteristic for a Tele, it will be hard to compensate that.

  • @Hv358 thanks man for the advise and yeah that was the first thought i had this day,, try with another guitar so i'll see what happens but i might borrow one or something and about the tube amp i got in mind... right i connect the gt-10 to a pa system and sounds terrible man. too way bright or its just i cant make the right sounds... My guitar is a Fender Telecaster J5 and what is uncommon in this particular guitar are the pickups i have one single coil for neck and a humburker on the other way

  • I listened to both versions and to be completely honest, in my opinion...the Boss GT-10 is far more superior in the tone for this particular song. Although this effect is still nice...its not for this song. Thats just my opinion though. And your timing now versus a year ago is greatly improved. You have done a fantastic job on this cover. Keep rockin out dude!!

  • @JScott4675 Agreed, the GT-10 sound is more close to Joe's sound. Thanks for the comment!

  • And which of both versions sounds better to you? The one with the GT-10 or this one?

  • @leobg389 Well, the GT-10 version comes closer to Joe's sound but on the whole this sounds more natural. I must say in this clip the sound could be more fatter. In the meantime I got better results because it took some time to get the optimal mic position and settings of the amp. It's far more easier to record with the GT-10. Which one do you like more?

  • @Hv358 Both are great, however, and as you say, this version sounds more natural. In the GT-10 the sound is more "covered" or lower, do I explain?

Haven't you tried your tube amp with the GT-10? I'm looking for a Fender Twin (tube-amp) but I don't know how it'd sound with my GT-10. It will be enough turning off the pre-amps settings of the GT-10?

    Anyway, great version.

  • @leobg389 Tried it, sounds nice when using 4 cable method (you need an effectloop in your amp for that). Turn off the pre-amps and set the global output to small amp. Thats it, I think.

  • @Hv358 Alright fella? Where did that backing track come from, sounds pretty good !! Thinking of getting me a Candy Apple. Did it need any luthier work when you got yours?

    Cheers matey, keep em coming

  • @callerz1 Although the finish was good the hardware and intonation needed work. And the action was too high. Some knobs were pretty loose too. A bit of a letdown. On the other hand, I never bought a guitar, even expensive ones, I liked straight away, coming straight of the box. The neck of the JS1200 is absolutely fantastic. It's not flat, more towards a Strat.

  • nice sound there champ ^5

  • The Switchblade sounds awesome! I'm wondering if you used any pedals or effects? None are listed under description like your other vides that mention the Vox pedals. I'm wondering if this is all switchblade? Sounds so buttery smooth. I just bought one of these combos. I sorta think they come close to JSX like tones. Also...is the amp mic'd for this?

  • @klpinvestments Hi, sorry about the missing info, I will correct it. Yes, this was pure Switchblade, no pedals were used in this one. The amp was mic'ed with a Shure SM57. That goes into a E-MU 04040USB and from there it goes to my recording software, Ableton Live. Then I synced the recording with the video and stripped the camerasound.

  • This sounds great! Great tone on the H&K and your fingers! And that's a Joe guitar, right?

Where did u get the backing track?

  • @davidbrucemusicvideo It's a JS1200 indeed. Not sure where to get the backing, found it somewhere on the net. Thanks for your comment!

  • that tone and feel is fantastic, very nice job. Makes me want to re record my version with my new amp, makes my tone sound weak haha...

Why haven't you learnt the end solo fully yet? No decent tab?

  • @FCRx7 Listened to your version and liked it. Sound is camera-sound isn'it? I record the sound with Ableton Live and sync it later with the videoclip. About the end solo, didnt have time yet, but maybe later.. Btw, how's your setlist coming along? I am also planning small gigs in pubs and bars. Thanks a lot for your comment.

  • @Hv358 Thanks, yes I recorded the sound just off the camera. Its not very good but I'm not quite sure how to record it separate and sync it with the video. I have a Guitar Port Rifftracker I think I could do it with but i'm still learning how to use it. My setlist is coming along slowly but surely. I've been getting vocal lessons (as well as guitar lessons) and learning acoustic songs. It alot of hard work if you want to sound any good! Where are you at with your setlist?

  • @FCRx7 I also started with a Guitarport. Used it with Guitar Rig (which can be used as a plug-in in most software recording programs) My setlist is done for now. I am aming for a small set, some 45 minutes. Going for small bars or at larger gigs as a supporting act for a band.

  • much better than the first one(although the first one wasnt bad either), lot more feeling. great cover!!

  • @socco445 Thanks for listening and your comment!

  • can we know what strings brand you use and the gauge size?

  • @JOeSJNr I use D'addario EXL120 (0.09-0.42) strings.

  • @Hv358 Thank you for the quick reply. Did you change the strings or they are stock strings of Ibanez? I bought an Ibanez last year and I find the strings are too hard. I did not change them because the sales "advisor" of the guitar shop said i should stick with the stock string that came with the Ibanez so that it will maintain Ibanez's "sound". What is your advice in this?

BTW, very nice playing... really enjoy it.

Hopefully you could do JerryC's ROCK ON and WHOSE AUTUMN next.

    Thanks.

  • @JOeSJNr Strings only make up a small portion of your sound, I would use whatever I like. What do you mean by "hard"? I would atleast use 0.09, makes bending easier for beginners. Remember, changing gauge will often require a new setup of your guitar. Whose Autumn is nice, maybe I'll give it a go. Thanks for the comment.

  • nice work

  • Great!!!!

  • WONDERFUL VIDEO! Great sound and feeling! Thanks!

  • and the boss gt10?

  • nice bends :) but I think the previous version was just as good!

  • awesome! great tone, feel... and all those bends spot on!

  • awesome !!!!
