As great as the Supremes were, this is one of the few songs that makes me laugh but Buttered Popcorn is FLORENCE BALLARD...The minimalist beat and rhythm is also very different for the Musical Magicians of Motown.

Blessed and favored by the Ancestors with a angelic voice, a talent like her will never walk planet earth again. She was the ORIGINAL lead singer. They should have kept her lead, she clearly had the stronger voice

She sang a few leads but she was never labeled as the lead singer. Sure....They could have kept her as lead and they would have simply sounded like every other average group out there at the time. I like this song but the great supremes sound came when Diana was solidified as the lead. What's done is done.

i too have the vinyl album. also liked i want a guy. first saw the supremes at the local roller rink and other acts from motown for $1.

that won't get you much today. but it was awesome then.
