The "Thing" you were talking about was the Epsilon unit, which only captured her AI inside of it. so techically, she isn't dead. i know it's confusing.

Even if Tex is freakin badass, she had trouble going against just Wash and Maine/Meta at the same time.

Tex, Carolina, and CT probably wouldn't have any teamwork at all, which wouldn't help matters. It's three of them versus four other Freelancers and the Master Chief. So as undeniably badass as Tex is, the second group would definitely win :)
