  • Over a year later, and I'm pretty sure most of us are still alive.

But you never know. Be careful if you smell bacon; the pigs could come back at any time.

  • exactly the swine flu is basically the same exact thing as the normal flu same exact symtpoms

  • yup-I agree with you, Lauren, i think they are sorta exaggerating it to scare ppl- the normal flu is more deadly anyway ( it just didnt come as suddenly) i agree with her....

  • just shut up

  • omg shut the fuck and ya there is i herd just on the news that a lil girl died because of it and there is swine flu in my school

  • lmfao aww . ' REALLY, GET OVER IT'

    im subscribing !

  • One person with swine flu in Alaska is like a fifth of the population.

  • Ooooooh ooooooh swine flu.

    This was boring.

    =/

  • Get the facts, read another article deary :P you have no idea what it's about.

  • HA! i dont think you know what we are about, of course she knows what she is talking about, shes not dumb. you need to get over yourself.

  • My comment was made in June last year quite a long time after WHO had declared swine flu a pandemic. Whilst I agree newspapers hype everything up, it was still a pandemic. The importance of swine flu was that it threatened to swamp health services and disrupt food supplies, not that most people would die from it. cowluvr102 was reacting to just one newspaper article in a melodramatic manner instead of taking a much more balanced view that scientific articles gave.

  • i think that her whole intent of this message was to show people that in alaska there are more then one person that lives here, there are many many thousands of us, also she made a point about how screwy the media can make it. One case of swne flu in alaska isnt that big of a deal. I dont think people freaked out when there was a first case of the outbreak.

  • Actually, you're not quite right - It has the potential to be as virulent as Spanish Flu was back in 1918. The Media are hyping it so much because the typical response is a cynical "it's not that bad" (because we're sick of the media hyping all illnesses). But yeah, no need to panic - just wash your hands regularly and thoroughly, and see a doctor if you get flu symptoms.

  • Shes givin me a headake!

  • no one lives in alaska....

  • dude.

just like no blacks live up here, huh.

    go ask diddy

  • the swine flu is a giant thing

if we dnt think its big then we wouldnt care as much and more cases would b reported...

  • Alaska has approximately 686,293 people. that's not very much considering the amount of open land there. Here in AZ. there are over 6 million people and the swine flu was a major subject on the news. A person not far from me actually died from it.

  • 5/5 good job!

  • wow lol ... more people die of alchohol abuse each year than the flu why would you get so worked up about it -.-

  • ??????

  • Most intelligent people know it's blown out of proportion with more attention to new than old.

  • over 250000+ die of seasonal flu each year

13000k+ in the US alone since january

when the swine flu was tested by the CDCP

it was found weaker than the seasonal flu

i applaud you being a mature and level headed person about it

    good for you

    5/5

  • do you want to die?? media just want to give you a heads up...just make sure you don't have it..

  • slow down i have dislecsia lol

  • 53 people across the world have been confirmed to have died from this "outbreak".

A good estimate for how many people died of the Spanish Flu in 1918 is 50,000,000.

That means 943,396 times as people died in 1918 as have died thus far, yet they have the same pandemic level.

    AWESOME JOB HUMANITY.
