@yugang08 Hey I gotta admit they got some skills. I only listened to the first video, but it sounded alright. Still doesn't mean that it's really tough to sit down and write up complex lyrics. I hope people didn't think I actually sat down and thought out what I had written before. Honestly though I can give those artists a good deal of credit. Rap doesn't take the total amount of synchronized skill as metal or rock. Various instruments, timing, and complex lyrics all are required.

Don't get me wrong, I love hip hop and consequently rap by default, but people are making the wrong arguments. Rap is dope, but the lyrics it's aren't music, the beat underneath the vocals is the musical part.
I love hip hop, but it's an insult to true vocalist (singers of various genres) and musicians to put them on the same level with rappers. It's a different skill set. Rappers are vocal artist opposed to a guitarist who is a musician. To be great at either takes talent, but imho one is a lot harder than the other.
Now people who dis beatmakers is a different story because they are legitimate musicians. Even if you are all digital and don't touch mpcs like 9th, you're still using an instrument.

I hope people didn't think I actually sat down and thought out what I had written before. Honestly though I can give those artists a good deal of credit. Rap doesn't take the total amount of synchronized skill as metal or rock. Various instruments, timing, and complex lyrics all are required.

I love hip hop, but it's an insult to true vocalist (singers of various genres) and musicians to put them on the same level with rappers. It's a different skill set. Rappers are vocal artist opposed to a guitarist who is a musician. To be great at either takes talent, but imho one is a lot harder than the other.
Now people who dis beatmakers is a different story because they are legitimate musicians. Even if you are all digital and don't touch mpcs like 9th, you're still using an instrument.

Country can be good too. E.x Johnny Cash. In the modern mainstream though it's in the same state as hip hop. Any genre can be good except perhaps for death metal.
Also, I feel like people say that rap doesn't take any talent because they see people like Lil Wayne and Soulja Boy succeeding in it without any talent whatsoever. Real ecmeeing takes as much or more talent than any other genre in the world.
