i want to know why they scrapped the AI system where you could see the woman playing with her dog and stuff. i really hope they do a fifth one, but its sadly not looking too promising...
@b1e2a Bethesda said that there will be a fifth Elder Scrolls... but they also said that it will be a long time until we see it (which was easy to figure, anyways).
@Edgegamer88 yeah i did research on it. but it might also be an rts. what kind of bullshit is that? if it IS an rts i'm going to be so angry. rts's are stupid, and if they soil the elder scrolls series with that, i know my life is meaningless. haha i play role playing games to get the hell away from having to deal with stupid people.
@Edgegamer88 wait a second, haha sorry. i had a brain fart. didn't know what i was thinking. i meant mmorpg. like massive multiplayer online. world of warcraft stuff. i was just thinking rts for some reason. but yeah, rts is real time strategy like age of empires haha.
@b1e2a Aha! That makes a little more sense. Although, an RTS Elder Scrolls would suck, too. I would not mind Oblivion or future Elder Scrolls being online but I would not want it to be an MMORPG like WoW. Of course, an online Elder Scrolls has many flaws but I believe that if the "rooms" were made with a low maximum number of players (maybe even hold off on the PvP elements for a while). In either case, in the end, it might just be better to leave the ES as a single-player adventure.
@Edgegamer88 yeah, i think it would be pretty sweet if it were online like maybe you and a friend can go around and do quests together. sort of like fable 2, only you can be in separate parts of the world and not be as horrible haha. god, the anticipation.
@b1e2a Yeah, something similar to that. With the Oblivion format, though, I think PvP would be literally impossible and co-op would be incredibly difficult (I'm thinking mostly of how the menu screens would work.) In single player when you go to your menu screen (whether it is to equip a new item, use a potion, repair hammer, w/e....) then the game practically pauses. How could that work in co-op? I'm sure there is a way, though. It would just be rough.
@Edgegamer88 if your such a gamer that has the profile name edge gamer you really should know what RTS stands for...my 3 month old sister knows what an RTS is.
@kyledominy123 lol Wow, really? I apologize, I thought that you might have something worth while to say. Now I see it is childish banter. Look, I'll let you rant and rave for as many posts it takes you to realize just how immature you looked with that ridiculous comment and meanwhile I am going to continue on with my existence. By the way, a little FYI, my profile name is actually a reference to a particular game which is most certainly not an RTS. Have a good night Kyle. Buh-bye now.
It would've been nice to have made some videos of the Making of Morrowind.
Just to see what they had to say about the game, because right now all I hear them say is "The quests in Morrowind were too hard, we also got lost, there was no fast travel" bla bla....
But I'd like to hear them say why they haven't implemented fast-travel in Morrowind (not that I would've wanted to, it's just out of curiosity) and their thought happen everything, in fact...
@Quartrez Maybe they just didn't think about it when they were making Morrowind. Bethesda was a pretty small company (10, 12 people alone worked on ES III) and they could have just been wrapped up in the enormity of making a game that was already a part of a well known and well-loved franchise. If you want to read some reviews on Morrowind when it was new try finding some online. The problems you mentioned were hardly noticed when the game first came out. lol
@themanwiththepan that would be cool, but highly difficult. They are a close knit team and its near impossible to get in due to Todd's sheer expectations of quality & personnel selection criteria. I know someone personally who works there as a concept artist... best at what they do - but he still just got in by the skin of his teeth. Todd is a nice guy, but he really grilled him @ the job interview. In actuality, its easier trying to get into 20th Century Fox or Paramount Studios than Bethesda.
@themanwiththepan - I did see that, lol - all the more reason for me to mention why it is good to fantasize about such things rather than for one to set their heart on them (many surprisingly do.) Who knows? If you have a flair for diplomacy, you might even be about to send Todd an email and convince him to "actually expand" & open up a Bethesda Studio near you. You could run it and you could start developing the Elder Scrolls VI - all we need is one of those love potions for Todd :D
The only thing I have to say about that is that if I were to make The Elder Scrolls VI, it would be named The Elder Scrolls : Tamriel. What better than a TES game, apart from arena and daggerfall (more this gen), that takes place throughout all of Tamriel?
@themanwiththepan ...have you played Arena and Daggerfall? The games use random finds. In Arena you create your own dungeon by using that Remove Floor spell. In daggerfall most of the stuff was generated randomly too. They are both quite ridiculous, and not what most people are looking for in a game.
@jlcmiles Thats for the best. Todd is a good game designer, but he's also a pretentious ass who doesnt realise he shouldnt talk publicly. I love the guy and his games but when i hear him speak, i kinda want to smack him.
