My father worked on that ship. He started on it probably on its maiden voyage. In 1954 he transfered to the TSS New York. He was a cook.

The TSS Olympia WASN'T Greek built!! I was built in Glasgow (as all the good ships are) in Scotland....

Olympia is so beautiful. the 1st Class Dining Saloon is wonderful. The Library, Ohhh! it's gorgeous. I love her Grand Staircase, lovely. OHHH Olympia!

Hi harwkins39. I was wondering where you got your two videos of this voyage from? My grandfather was on the maiden voyage of the olympia as part of a film crew filming a promotional video of the journey, and i would absolutely love to somehow get hold of that film, do you know anything about it? ( i think it was filmed with pathe, but can't be sure). It would mean so much to him, i'd like to show them to him as a surprise for his 80th which is coming up. These videos are lovely by the way...

I agree lol the film is really lovely but you can blame my husband on the transfer hehe. I hope to transfer this one properly.

I would rate this as 5* if is wasn't for the dreadfully poor standard of the transfer.
