  • WOW..... You sir are AMAZING

  • 0:51 is incredible...he give me chills...its amazing...so much emotion! great job to all! im performing this at my high school. i hope we are a fraction of as good as u!

  • Too fast. The song is supposed to be slower and more rhythmic. You guys rushed through it.

  • this is my favorite song... bloody but soooo goood im the one im the play tht im doing tt gets thier head chopped off

  • this is my favorite song... bloody but soooo goood

  • Very nice vocal work, I'm impressed. Well done. =)

  • I. Love. This.

  • Gotta love the pit music in this production simply amazing, well speaking from a trombone players standpoint

  • I'm seeing The Scarlet Pimpernel tonight at my high school, and I had heard so much about this song, but had never heard it, so thanks!! This is amazing!

  • I'd really like to know how that guillotine works. Bravo, I liked it.

  • @Adjuni The bottom piece where St. Cyr's head is resting is split into two pieces. So when the blade comes down, you push your head down and into the basket. The basket is only the front half.

  • @HunterPilot24: Thanks for the explanation. Though vague :P

  • Poor St. Cyr... :(

And the audience at the end sounded half entertained and half horrified... but I guess that's what you get with sing-along executions...

  • A great performance! I really like the rearrangement, just as St. Cyr gets his solo.

Everyone looks like they're having so much fun. :D

  • I love the song!

  • that's not how the song goes . . exactly. :)

  • Does anyone know where I can find the sheet music for this song?

Trying out for the school musical but I need the sheet music...

  • @WoodStar2 You would need the show book. Over $100 per part. I played the lead trumpet part for the show. AMAZING!!!

  • A great song. But someway the melody was different...

It is cool, that you play that Musical, but it isn*t so great, like others, but I don*t say, that's you Foul, ok? ^^°

I find that ... way how the make that song not really well ^^°

  • That guillotine sure fell slowly. That's my only complaint.

  • @carlotta4th Looks to me to be the exact one they used on broadway. We used the broadway one and it looks identical to that one. It can't fall too fast. It has a special mechanism for the effect.

  • Lets see some video If you say such things back them up

  • i can't no one will put it up due to privacy issues or something.

  • This is one of the best songs from the play, how come it was botched so much?

  • Love the song, and the Scarlet Pimpernel in general, but I do feel really bad for the prisoner. He gets part of a song and 2 minutes on stage before he dies and is cut from the play. -_-

  • I know. He has a good voice. lol

  • Wow....I wonder how they did the slicing of the head thing

  • That's the magic of the stage.

  • @CubicalGirl It's the broadway guillotine. The mechanism is brilliant and it looks real from on stage, not to mention from the audience.

  • Chauvelin and St.Cyr (the man singing solo in the end) Gets stars and roses from me. Some people here on youtube are very talented! Amazing singing and performing! Keep up the good work!

  • thank you!! St. Cyr was me!

  • Incredible. The Chauvelin in this is exceptional. Whoever he is is, he did a great job! I love how he smacks the prisoner at the begining!

  • Wow, I'm very impressed. And the sets.....wowsers!

  • bravo

  • this got critics choice in the florida thespians state festival this weekend as well!

    Go district Two!!!!!

  • I saw this number performed at the International thespian society festival. It was a critics choice and whoever did kicked ass!! It was amazing.

  • haha we actually shove some one down when we do it in the play at my school it is really fun being just a soldier

  • if anyone knows mrs glickman from clinton,...LMAO..u know what i mean

  • This is a great version of this number. The creshendo and the effect at the end made me gasp. Where was this?

  • 1:00 - Wow!!

  • this was great. i, with the other person, loved the guy singing on the platform. his voice is one i would have loved to hear more!

    great job!

  • WoW thanks! that was me!!

  • it's gorgeous....i love that men singing "can't you feel the terror? like a fire in the eye" it's incredible....i love the way he sings

  • Thanks so much you guys!! I'm so flattered you liked me!

  • YOU WERE AMAZING. I went on a trip to a high-school to see their drama club perform this and it was sooo good i looked it up here. Im glad I did :D

  • @cornbeefonry u were really good

  • This is My MOST FAVORITe song from any musical, it sends chills through me every time I listen to it!

  • The guy getting his head chopped off is really good. He stands out to me the most.

  • Hey thanks! that was me!

  • You made the video! lol

    2 Questions:

    1) Where did you get talent like that? lol

    2) Was it fun being guillotined? (it looks fun lol)

  • thanks oohcool!! it was fun having my head chopped off ha ha

  • Though I imagine the hours it took supergluing it back on was annoying. ;)

  • That is Versallies in the background?

    COOL!

  • oh.. great work though =)

  • i dont get how the guillotine works..

  • well, there's a rope thing that you use to pull the blade up. You place the person's head in the board, there'a half circle for the neck, and then you let go of the rope and it cuts the person's head off.

Bloody, yes, but it gets the job done.

  • in a real guillotine thts not usually how its done. they do have to pull a rope but once its up, there is usually a switch to realse the blade. with the switch its much safer.

  • lol great effect at the end. cant work out how its done

  • Neat little trick where the bottom drops out. We used the same type prop in our production of this.

  • Can be difficult to do. Our show we are doing now, our guillotine drops as soon as we let the rope go (which is slightly faster than this guillotine in the video) and a guard is holding the head and has to move his hand before he loses it. But it looks great.

  • This is good stuff. I find the speed of the guillotine to be a bit anti-climactic because I always love it when it comes down fast. Also the set is a bit light throughout. The Chauvelin was pretty good though. Great "Hail her Majesty!" near the end.

  • Hey! that's me singing "God can you not feel the terror like a fire in the air!!" lol I didn't even know this was on here! Somebody get me a copy!!

  • so are you the executioner in red and st. cyr is a dummy or are you forreal st. cyr

  • I was St. Cyr and it's my head in the guill. the bottom just drops out.

  • u were good. Not chessy like most shows.

  • Is this the Fullerton Civic Light Opera production? I know it's the broadway set. Great footage. Any more?
