@5786Dan That used to happen frequently on tours - even now you still get the odd ned who's upset because the class 66 he needs is dropped for a dud one. A near riot broke out on a Holyhead-Brum service when the 37 burst at Crewe and was replaced by 31439!! Me, I stayed aboard in a quite compartment carriage and savoured the Ped! It was always good to do a variety of locos anyway.
It's behaviour like this that makes me reluctant to go on rail tours. However, I understand that the staff classify the passengers as 'normals' and 'nutters'. Slightly less challenging company is available in the dining and first class carriages.
@Rabbitbunvoo You've never heard of Death!? You should be ashamed!!! Death is a old geezer who usually resides in a field in a trench coat, flat cap and a hi-viz. No matter how hot or cold it is. Whenever we see him (and beleive me, he stands out) it is tradition to scream and bellow 'Death My Lordz' as loud as you can while franticaly waving your arms around, preferably after a drink or to. Now you know!
@Rabbitbunvoo The Death was the dignity of all train enthusiasts around the globe due to these Neanderthals. If I was on that tour I would have been severely disappointed, not because of the loco failure. I wouldn't have minded being tugged about by a good old 37, it's more the behaviour of my fellow riders. >:(
Probably some of those stupid spotters from London. Not saying that all spotters from London are stupid, but there are a bunch of them who really do act up, swearing and cursing and yelling at everything that goes by. Not only is it antisocial, but it gives us more peaceful trainspotters a bad name! >=-(

"death!" was a train photographer back when i was bashing in the 80s and 90s who was always screamed at."i am the doctor...yes...yes...yes"

Note the typical noises from the passengers on a British Rail journey.
The screams are passengers at the cash till realising the cost for their coffee & sandwich.
The groans are when they bite into their cheese n pickle sandwich with a 20day shelf life.
The wails are when they first cast eyes on the state of the toilet they are compelled to use.

Why are all the people on the train shouting and making stupid noises? Are they on there way to a mental hospital?

What a bunch of asshats. When you go on railtours you expect that things may not always go 100% to plan. Just enjoy it for what it is, jeeze...
