If U.S. soldiers were captured, tortured, then made ot attend mock-trials ( like what happens in the U.S. with "terrorists" ), then found guilty, and subsequently executed, Bush would immediately attack, for failure to do so would be seen as a weak America by everyone.

The question the reporter asked puts the actions of the administration into context: would we accept someone else's interpretation of the Geneva convention were the tables turned. Obvious answer is hell no. Bush knows this, and replies with a retort that indicates he has no idea what point the reporter is trying to make.
