The N/T was translated into greek and they have specific words for Actual blood relative and cousin.Mark 6:3-4 these were his literal brothers and sisters because the word for brother is "Adelphos" literal blood relative. The word for Cousin is " Anepsios" not used here. So Jesus had literal brothers and sisters according to the bible, this refutes Rome's teaching that Mary remained a perpetual virgin all her life. Romes false doctrines are exposed by the truth of Scripture amen

@kiwichristian2009 But, even in the New Testament epistles it's said to the faithful, multiple times, trust not only written word from Scripture, but the traditions that have been handed down. From the documents and writings of the early Church Fathers, it's clearly established that Mary was ever-virgin.
Read the Early Church Fathers. People who do, come down to one question, with only two choices: "Do I become Orthodox or Catholic?"
PS How did early Christians get their hands on a Bible?
@TenderTrap86 Paul did not say, "The things are to teach you not to exceed my oral teachings." Instead the emphasis is on showing the supremacy of scripture over oral tradition. What makes this even more powerful, is the fact that in 54 AD, only a few of the New Testament books were written, yet the church was still warned to abide within the scripture she had.
@kiwichristian2009 If you want to believe everything the Bible says, go ahead. Just remember that the Bible doesn't really say anything; it can't speak for itself.
As to all the supposed "evidence and claims" shown here stating the perpetual virginity of Mary, they are merely the teachings and claims of mortal men, which are clearly in contradiction to what the Holy Bible, the infallible Word of God tells us. This is the grave spiritual problem that arises when a person bases his christian faith on the teachings of fallible men and ignore the infallible Word of God, the Bible.
That is why the people from Jesus' own country said this in Mark 6:3...."Is this not the carpenter (Jesus), the Son of Mary, AND THE BROTHER OF James, Joses, Judas and Simon? And are not His SISTERS here with us?"..." This verse together with Matthew 1:24-25 clearly tells us why Mary could not have been a perpetual virgin, because as a wife she had a sexual relationship with her husband and had children other than Jesus.
Then Matthew 1: 24-25 tells us..." Then Joseph, being aroused from sleep, did as the angel of the Lord commanded him and took to him his wife, AND DID NOT KNOW HER (meaning have sexual intercourse with her) TILL SHE HAD BROUGHT FORTH (gave birth to) her firstborn Son....Verse 25 clearly tells us that Joseph had a sexual relationship with his wife, Mary, and as a result had other children.
Mary could not have been a perpetual virgin because the bible says clearly she was married to Joseph. Matthew 1:20 tells us..."But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, "Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary, your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit". 18 minutes ago
Scholars have established that, based on the style of the language, and the fact that the author [of the protoevangelium of James] is apparently not aware of contemporary Jewish customs while James the Just certainly was, the work is pseudepigraphical (written by someone other than the person it claims to be written by). It apparently embellishes on what is told of events surrounding Mary, prior to and at the moment of, Jesus' birth, in the Gospel of Matthew and in the Gospel of Luke.
From Wikipedia: The perpetual chastity is based on the Gospel of James, also sometimes known as the Infancy Gospel of James or the Protoevangelium of James, is an apocryphal Gospel probably written about AD 150. The Gospel of James may be the earliest surviving document attesting the veneration of Mary by stating her perpetual virginity and presenting her as the New Eve.
