My God, what a powerful scene! The price our forefathers paid just so that WE WOULD HAVE FREEDOM! These brothers knew they were going to die, but they remained BRAVE, STRONG and RESILIENT to the very end of there precious lives. Thank you for sacrificing your lives for your people.
The song upon which this scene is based is called "Noah." The most popular version is sung by Harry Belafonte. As good as Frankie Laine is, his song "Rain, Rain, Rain" is NOT the basis for the song in this scene.
@candr The song upon which this "Glory" scene is based is called "Noah." The best known version is sung by Harry Belafonte. There's a version of marginal quality of "Noah" on YouTube. The lyrics of the song heard in Glory can be heard at the 3:30 mark of "Noah."
The only good scene in one of the worst movies of all time. The only correct things in the whole movie are that there was a war between the states, and there was black troops,.
First time I watched this movie was right after I watched Gettysburg with Martin Sheen and Charlie Daniels. They are the two best war movies I've seen, each with their own message and their own direction regarding the aspects of the Civil War. This scene, the tent scene between Trip, A lot of my favorite scenes of all movies camefrom those two works. =P
I saw this scene for the first time in 5th grade, and didn't see it again until 6 years later. I remembered it for all six of those years! Great scene.
Incredible! Lets us Black people NEVER foget!

@cptmarvel65 Lyrics don't match but both have similar tunes, of course both have changed over the years.
