Your words are right on! "When I say I'll never vote, don't tell me not to bitch because limiting yourself to the choices that you're given you just lose your creative mind..."
FUCK. this is a few years old, but this is so right on. fuck voting. work on being a good person; that's what society needs. NOT to have everyone wasting their time on trying to untangle all the lies of politicians as said politicians manipulate their emotions to try and get their vote. people who think it's stupid/wrong not to vote are missing the bigger picture. trust me (or don't, look and examine for yourself), in said picture, no one's happiness and well being are being benefited by voting.
There's nothing wrong with voting. The problem is people think "voting" is limited to putting a mark on a piece of paper once every four years. I ran (unsuccessfully) for city council recently, and my campaign motto, which I gave at every public appearance, was: "Remember, you can vote with a ballot, but you can vote with a brick too." I got completely skull-raped in the election of course...
I agree to vote is stupid, but to not vote is even more stupid! We shouldn't stop voting, but we need to do more to educate voters and continue swapping career politicians for common-sense spined concerned citizens
Anarchy is a great idea in theory, but we'd go down the crapper faster with out a government. See, the thing is if we had nothing...We'd have chaos. Anyone who wants chaos is stupid. But, my point being is that nobody can function without a government just yet. Even if we could, there would be that one asshole with a big group who could somehow take over.
Vote Libertarian, closest thing you can get to it without a total cluster fuck.
Can you prove any of that? Look up the Spanish Revolution.
The LP are capitalist scum, who would fuck over the working class the second they got in power by cutting wages, passing anti-union laws, and privitizations.
Anarchy, in the typical sense, means no government. No cops, laws, etc. Without someone watching what us, we'd all be idiots. We'd pretty much just form little groups (gangs) and/or run around killing each other. Why? Because there's nobody to stop it. If we had a few weeks of anarchy, I can bet we'd have tons of dead people do to gang violence, hate crimes, etc. If there was total peace, we could have it. But, in modern times, no. We all like the idea, but we're not ready.
Anarchism means no rulers, not no rules. Honestly, if there was no government would you run outside and start shooting? No, nobody would. With free distrobution and an end to capitalism, an end to the majority of crime comes because most crime is because of economic conditioning.
The LP wants to remove workers' rights and safeguards, so capitalists can exploit us even more than they already do.
No I wouldn't, I could never bring myself to kill someone unless I was defending myself or a loved one. So basically, Anarchy is a spread the wealth thing? Like Soviet Communism, just with out the privileged few? The majority of people believe Anarchy to people a state of total chaos, as seen with myself.
Anarchy is a system founded on equality, direct democracy, and community control of the means of production. Some good sites to check out (google them) are: Anarchy Archives, NEFAC, Anarkismo, and Infoshop (though I'm no fan of them).
both of you should look up "for an emergent governance" here on youtube. it's a 26 part series (yes, very very long) that explains in great detail, how a real, functional, sustainable anarchy is relevant and a very reasonable thing to advocate.
Isn't capitalism a necessary mechanism to protect and safeguard people from their own abusive inclinations? I mean, it's nice to think along utopian lines - it'd be great if we didn't need any economic or financial system to rely on, in order to protect our own interests (which we all have), but the reality is that people will exploit any method of distribution unless there are safeguards in place - capitalism is just a safeguard, and people do abuse it because it's not perfect, but what is?
How is that different from what we have right now? It's just a matter of balance; who should be followed, and who should we trust? I'll trust in myself, not some politician. I guess in that sense, I might be close to anarchist, but I don't think anarchy, as a solution to man's problems, would in any way address man's problems. If anything, it'd just give us a new breeding ground for abusive power-hungry leeches to engage in their group power-plays.
I'm not into all that anarchy stuff, but dude seriously...Its all talk with politicians. I really should show this to my freshmen orientation teacher(Now a sophomore), or at least the "Don't tell me not to bitch" part.
I'll be doing voluntary outreach efforts outside a prominent voting location on election day rather than voting. With friends, we should be able to hit several prominent locations in the area during peak traffic.
My advice: Enjoy the ride of life when/while you can, and only care about the few things and people you actually have the power to help, because there ain't no saving this world, not by a long shot, and especially not through politics.
man communism wont fix the machine the only thing that will fix the machine is if a a smart middle clss person runs for president and makes it. burgreat job there bob dylan very nice:)
The only thing that will fix the machine, is the extinction of the homo sapien. Humans are nothing but high-functioning animals. They will never get along, especially through the charade of politics and illusion of government. Humans, as a group-mind, enjoy conflict and tribalism. It's in their DNA. Might as wll let the animals play, rather than be controlled and exploited by fellow animals packs.

the present "order" is just chaos put into laws and made to look nice. if you see obvious flaws with anarchy it's because you're looking only at your own imagined concept of it. everyone has their own anarchy, and if you aren't living yours you're not doing anything useful either.
oh really? laugh all you want. Anarchy is for pathetic people who love complaining but do nothing productive about it. And of course there are flaws with the system. Amazing Video... i've seen it like 20 times man. No one i can pick your own self... it's the individual mind that matters! I actually wrote, "Voting is stupid" in the search and found this... it's the best song ever.
i really hate when i write a comment and it takes an hour to pass through youtube.... and then it makes you look like an idiot when you say the same thing two different ways.
Fantastic... i couldn't think a bit more similarly,in fact i typed in youtube, "Voting Is Stupid" and this video came up. As the primaries approach i feel so apathetic realizing no one represents my beliefs. My family makes such a big deal about it saying that i'm crazy because, "I don't think it matters." I can tell you what matters... that's individual thought and so i registered but i'm not voting a single person in or ever will. Fuck The Vote!
Woody didn't even know he was getting paid by the USSR but he sure didn't mind being used as propaganda. Meanwhile Lenin and Stalin filled up the gulags and built a military empire on the backs of slave labor. A dictatorship of the proles literally. Kill the "Fascist" machine indeed.
this machine kills bureaucrats too.... and capitalists
no thanks for classing me among the commies. no dictatorship is healthy. would you prefer bush filling up the prisons and building a military empire on the backs of wage labor? voting legitimates the system of representation loved equally by capitalist and commie.

cont... would flourish and paranoia and a trigger-happy self-defence attitude would reign. On the surface anarchy sounds like a great idea- most people, including me, get pissed at the government for one reason or another, but the world and society is not half as bad as the Boschian image anarchists love to paint. I am yet to see an anarchist do something useful- they are good at complaining but thats it- when do they ever back up their complaints with productive actions. For instance cont...

if you think anarchists have never done anything useful you obviously don't like having 8 hour days; a hell of a lot of the people who fought for the (admittedly quite few) rights that workers have today were anarchists. the bosch painting we're living in today is much a milder hell than the one we'd be living in had the anarchists and their allies never fought for people's rights against corporations, religions and governments. paranoia and trigger-happy self defense reign right now.

I was referring to todays anarchists. Whatever problems the world, our countries face now will be made ten times worse under a state of anarchy. Im not sure about you, but I don't want my country to resemble Somalia.

cont... the world to fit anarchism. There is no anarchist leader and anarchist groups tend to be badly organised. Whatever exposure they do get is usually spent burning cars at G8 summits- very productive! Like Dubya's invasion of Iraq anarchists are very good at shouting about their believes but appear to have no set plan about what to do afterwards. How do we know when a state of anarchism is 'achieved'- how would people cynical of anarchy be accomodated? What would stop one individual cont...

cont... alternative. As a conclusion I am not 'brainwashed' by the government- I am aware of the many flaws of democracy but I would choose that any day over anarchy. There is no such thing as anarchy without chaos. Anarchy may work in micro- societies but most people would miss capitalism too much for it to develop as the status-quo. The world is very far from perfect but it is considerably better than the nightmare world that would develop if anarchists ever got their act together. Con't..

cont.... constantly endorse political ideologies- 'Anarcho- Capitalism', 'Anarcho-Communism' for instance.
2) Anarchy by its nature is against structure. In an anarchist society institutions like hospitals, schools, police stations and so on could not function because they all require management and positions of responsibility, which anarchists oppose- without these institutions, society would be a mess.
3) Anarchists have yet to provide concrete proof as to how they would re-organise the cont..

ANARCHY IS STUPID. Its useful for whining about everything- but as for actually doing something useful- ha!

I love people who say that. Then i ask them if they've done anything for what they believe in... and they are like... "Umm well..." Music is a nice form of saying what you think is wrong with the world. So is anarchism.

Enjacku- I am amused by your foregone conclusion but sadly it is wrong- I have done/ am doing numerous things I believe in. There is no such thing as anarchy without chaos. There are so many obvious flaws with anarchy its laughable people still defend it. Lets tear it all down- fascist pigs........... please! Anarchism really is pathetic.
CULAVE 3 years ago
we all laugh at you. there are so many obvious flaws with the present system that any alternative is useful.
the present "order" is just chaos put into laws and made to look nice. if you see obvious flaws with anarchy it's because you're looking only at your own imagined concept of it. everyone has their own anarchy, and if you aren't living yours you're not doing anything useful either.

oh really? laugh all you want. Anarchy is for pathetic people who love complaining but do nothing productive about it. And of course there are flaws with the system. It will never be perfect because people are involved. I have never claimed it is. But its 100 times better than being in anarchy- maybe you would prefer to live in Somalia? Tell me just one productive thing anarchists have done....... Here are just some of the many flaws;
1) Anarchists claim to be anti-politics and yet cont...

Bravo, sir! Bravo! This is the most BS-free flow of poetic fact I have heard in ages.
I am proud to say, at the age of 27, I have not voted a grand total of 0 times. I assure you, that number will not change before I am a rotting corpse.

NortonYorksterdam 4 years ago
this machine kills bureaucrats too.... and capitalists
no thanks for classing me among the commies. no dictatorship is healthy. would you prefer bush filling up the prisons and building a military empire on the backs of wage labor? voting legitimates the system of representation loved equally by capitalist and commie.

no argument there I've been vote-free for 7 years now and looking forward to the next 7.
