We have supercharged many engines and are about to supercharge my 99 f150. so yes you can supercharge an engine, doesn't have to be done in the factory. However you do have to worry about the compression ratio and whether you have cast or forged enigne parts so you dont blow your block.

@R7300 not a lightning with a supercharger, just lightning period. all lightnings come factory supercharger with 8 psi of boost stock... but you hardly ever see stock lightnings anymore so guaranteed a lightning would be pushing 450hp-800hp on the street no problem. that and the fact that dollar to dollar for mods no srt-10 will come close to a lightning. you've just been schooled on late model sport trucks.

Might as well just start with a stock 5.4 and build the entire engine and will be much better than a stock svt 5.4. nothing special about the svt 5.4 block as it's the same triton 5.4 block

SRT-10 (the motor) came in both vipers and special dodge pickups. There is no such thing as a "viper truck". There is a dodge ram SRT-10, which is what's in the video.

@wilsonjl16 Street Race Track (SRT) is for Dodges performance line of vehicles. The Ram SRT-10 not only has the same V10 as the Gen III Vipers, but it also has upgraded brake, suspension components, as well as bigger wheels/tires to enhance handling.

The point being, the Ram SRT-10 isn't simply a Ram with a V10 crammed under the hood. Dodge spent a lot more time and money turning it into a performance truck.

I was running 8psi on an intercooled Roush. I am lifted with 33's. I spun through second but with as fast as his truck is I would have lost on the top anyways. I am now at 10psi, but he is selling the SRT-10, we may race again.

You must not have an intercooled supercharger...with an intercooler at about 8 lbs boost...reg cab short bed (with a good tune) should get you about 4.5 sec 0-60... throw some blower cams in there and get like 60 HP more on top of that...
